Peej 0 #26 November 10, 2004 Hmmmm...not too much that's wild and exciting. I've been shot. I swam with 9 or 10 wild dolphins. Watched two whales do their mating "dance" in the sea one morning as paddled past them to go surfing. Had more than one close encounter with a shark while sitting on my surboard. Jumped the legal bridge four times. Smoked opium over a candle flame with a little Thai man named "Dr O" in his hut at the base of a waterfall in the far north of Thailand. That was pretty cool. I did this too!!! Guess it was probably a different "Dr O" though, and the opium didn't do very much for me! I kitesurfed from 1 island to another in the Phillipines - had dolphins out there with me for part of the way. That was pretty cool Never try to eat more than you can lift

BillyVance 34 #37 November 10, 2004 Hmmm... We had a single rope swing with a wooden round seat off the big tree in the backyard, tied to a branch some 20 feet high. The yard slopes down from the sitting point. I'm swinging way out, maybe as high as 12-15 feet, when one day the rope broke at the seat and I'm in freefall for a couple of seconds then THUMP! Only had the breath knocked out of me. I once climbed a young tree too high up, bending the trunk way over with me hanging on for dear life until it snapped and I fell 15 feet, only had the breath knocked out of me too. Maybe these were the early precursors to me going skydiving! But before I did, I was a long distance runner and completed two marathons, the last one in 3.5 hours. I've water-skiied (single ski) in the Gulf of Mexico in heavily infested jellyfish waters (I think I saw a shark or two also, not sure). Survived a couple of close brushes with F3 tornadoes... The best one was seeing a waterspout coming out the back end of an isolated thunderhead 15 miles away from the Gold Coast DZ while on the ride to altitude in the Pink Flamingo Porter in the late 1990's!!! davedlg 0 #44 November 10, 2004 I once went whitewater rafting down a class IV river in February into a frozen waterfall then went ice climbing. Later that evening we went skiing. Full Moon backcountry night skiing. Climbed the third flatiron in Boulder, CO under the full moon. Full Moon night whitewater rafting...I flipped my raft in the middle of a class IV rapid at 1 in the morning last summer. Tried to climb a 22,000 foot high mountain in Peru, but had to come down in the middle of the night because my friend got HAPE. Rappeled into a pit in a cave that I couldn't see the bottom of. I had no idea if my rope would reach or not. (It barely did) Eaten fresh rattlesnake. Rowed a raft 225 miles and 18 days through the Grand Canyon. adamUK 3 #47 November 10, 2004 Getting a tuberide whilst surfing. It's such an unusual place to be. It's like watching those old B&W tellys when they switch off, the outside just disappears off as the wave breaks over your head. Also had a forced bivuac at 3400 m in the french alps whilst out mountaineering - brr!! Don't think I would want to do that again.
