scottbre 0 #1 November 23, 2004 I'm going to be at Deland this weekend and was wondering if and how well they are set up for people who would want to put up a tent and camp at the DZ for a few days. Could someone in the know give me some info? Oh, yea, so I'm going to be in Deland this weekend, maybe I can meet some more famous DZ.commers. "Your mother's full of stupidjuice!" weegegirl 2 #3 November 23, 2004 I camped there a couple of years ago - my info may be out dated. But we had a great time, plenty of room to put up a tent. My only peice of advice...... WARNING: CHECK THE GROUND FOR RED ANT HOLES BEFORE YOU LAY DOWN YOUR TENT. IF YOU CAN, BRING A TARP TO PUT YOUR TENT ON.
gravityizsexy 0 #4 November 23, 2004 yeah man, I've camped there... they're really cool about it... just pitch up near the outdoor packing area and kick it. If you have any questions or you feel uncomfortable just ask around when you get there... they're are some cool-ass people in DeLand. You might even get hooked up with the 10-second tour..... heh heh (a little joke) but yeah man... it's good sleeping and you wake up to a nice airstrip in good weather with breakfast literally 2-seconds away. Have fun... -Tony "'Someday is not a day in my week'"
Ncrowe 0 #5 November 23, 2004 Yup what everyone else said, plenty of camping room and a cool lil fire pit for fires at night. They have a shower as well. "Don't Mess Around With the Guy in Shades- Oh No!!! "

SkymonkeyONE 4 #7 November 23, 2004 They have great food in the restaurant (the Perfect Spot) as well. Definitely watch out for fire ants where you pitch your tent.

akarunway 1 #9 November 23, 2004 I camped there for two months awhile back. Watch out for the first load swooping your tent to wake you tho. LOL. And make sure the tent is anchored down GOOD. Mine was the only one left after a severe thunderstorm. I had a blast and hope to be back as soon as Florida will let me back in the state w/o getting arrested. skymama 37 #10 November 23, 2004 The weather is looking good after Thursday, I don't think you'll need to worry about rain. Like other people said, the food in the restaurant is great now and you'll also have many choices of beer (and no beer light to worry about!). You might want to bring some bug spray, the mosquitos are still very active when the sun goes down. For showers, the ones out in the parking lot on the restaurant side give you the most space and privacy. I wish I could meet you, but I'll be at a 3 day soccer tournament at Disney. I hope you have fun!She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
flyangel2 2 #11 November 24, 2004 QuoteI'll be at a 3 day soccer tournament at Disney. Wow, sounds like fun. Be sure to take some time to pamper yourself and get away from all those kids.
