Snow in SoCal???

There was supposed to be a 4-way camp at Elsinore today. We did a couple of warm-up jumps yesterday afternoon and began lectures last night. We met again at 7:45 am this morning, and we left about an hour afterwards. I just got to my boyfriend's home. It was so cold at Elsinore.

This morning when I went from the bunkhouse to the showers/bath at a little after 6 am, it was dark and raining cats and dogs. I got soaked justy trying to get in because the bath door was stuck! I ran back to the rooms and back out to battle with the bathroom door in the rain. It sucked! The male instructors that we shared the bunkhouse room with called us (Darcy, Ev and myself) hardcore because we still showed up at 7:45 am despite the coldness and icicles...

It was pouring rain in Elsinore this morning. Someone remarked that it was probably snowing in Perris. Guess they were right . Saw the snow on the mountains when I was driving home from the DZ. Guess I should have planned to go snowboarding instead of skydiving today .

I was right about the weather last night! However, we had already paid for our 4-way camp and managed to at least get a few jumps in, yesterday. It wasn't a total waste...most of us showed up this morning, which proves our "commitment, commitment, commitment!!!" like we talked about last night.

When I read what you wrote, I was laughing so hard I was practically crying! I would NOT want to be in the tunnel right now. We talked about that earlier today...it would be FREEZING in there.

Btw, I just checked and have been looking for a couple of minutes now. I don't see anyone in the tunnel, anymore.

Sounds like a good idea, but I have no alcohol in the house. Well, except for that nasty Absente -and I just get the feeling that stuff would give me one serious hangover. Well, kinda.

Took in a movie (home theatre), cooked a home made cinnamon toast and bacon breakfast, played in the snow, took a LONG hot bath with bubbles, sitting here in front of the fireplace now...drapes open at my front window...watching the snow flakes fall.

House work...what house work....don't hear that broom and mop calling at all (snuggling deeper into my blankie with another cup of hot coffee in hand...quite music playing in the background...

That's really strange. I live in the mountains in New England and we haven't seen any snow yet. During the day it's been in the 50's. A little unusual for us. The ski resorts are not happy.

Since I moved to New England, I've noticed that when the western part of the country gets pounded with a rough winter, the east tends to be quite mild.

It's all about the jetstream.

I was AT Elsinore this morning (stayed the night after jumping on Saturday). It was FREEZING. The snow and ice was on the cars this morning. It was really freaky. Also, the Ortegas (2500 feet) had snow on them to the base. . .it was wierd. . .

Went home to the low desert (palm desert, la quinta, indio area). We had ice and slush on the ground. . .it doesn't snow here. . .

Yup, snowed here in Elsinore just back of my apartment (west side of lake) and all through Canyon Lake, and Quail Vally on the way to Perris.

I did the smart thing and sent Rich to the liquor store while I was taking my test. Of course, the test might have been more fun if I had downed a few shots before taking it.

That movie is somewhat depressing, but it's really well-done... and I love the soundtrack. "Oh, it's such a perfect day....."
