Snow in SoCal???

Recommended Posts

There was supposed to be a 4-way camp at Elsinore today. We did a couple of warm-up jumps yesterday afternoon and began lectures last night. We met again at 7:45 am this morning, and we left about an hour afterwards. I just got to my boyfriend's home. It was so cold at Elsinore.

This morning when I went from the bunkhouse to the showers/bath at a little after 6 am, it was dark and raining cats and dogs. I got soaked justy trying to get in because the bath door was stuck! I ran back to the rooms and back out to battle with the bathroom door in the rain. It sucked! The male instructors that we shared the bunkhouse room with called us (Darcy, Ev and myself) hardcore because we still showed up at 7:45 am despite the coldness and icicles...:D

It was pouring rain in Elsinore this morning. Someone remarked that it was probably snowing in Perris. Guess they were right :o. Saw the snow on the mountains when I was driving home from the DZ. Guess I should have planned to go snowboarding instead of skydiving today :S.

I was right about the weather last night! :D However, we had already paid for our 4-way camp and managed to at least get a few jumps in, yesterday. It wasn't a total waste...most of us showed up this morning, which proves our "commitment, commitment, commitment!!!" like we talked about last night. ;)

Lori ~ The snow that you have is so gorgeous. Your doggie looks happy about it, and you can snuggle up with hot cocoa in front of the fire, today. :)

Look at the hardcore folks in the tunnel right now at Perris! That has to be damn cold in there.

:o When I read what you wrote, I was laughing so hard I was practically crying! I would NOT want to be in the tunnel right now. We talked about that earlier today...it would be FREEZING in there.

Btw, I just checked and have been looking for a couple of minutes now. I don't see anyone in the tunnel, anymore.

Oh, and no way am I driving in this stuff.

Hummm... Perfect day to stay in and having an absinthe binging party!>:(

Sounds like a good idea, but I have no alcohol in the house. :( Well, except for that nasty Absente -and I just get the feeling that stuff would give me one serious hangover. Oh well, I'm about to take an algebra test anyway (while sitting here in my PJ's :D)... Maybe after I am done with that then I will see if I am brave enough to drive to the liquor store. >:(

The US educational system is sooooo screwed up.
Don't they teach you to hit the liquor store BEFORE taking any tests?:S

:D

I think today is Post Whore Day for Southern Californians...>:(

How come I can't be "Cute Frenchy", and Keely could be the "one"? Uh? Doesn't it read better?:|:D:D

Well, kinda.

Took in a movie (home theatre), cooked a home made cinnamon toast and bacon breakfast, played in the snow, took a LONG hot bath with bubbles, sitting here in front of the fireplace now...drapes open at my front window...watching the snow flakes fall.

House work...what house work....don't hear that broom and mop calling at all (snuggling deeper into my blankie with another cup of hot coffee in hand...quite music playing in the background... :)

That's really strange. I live in the mountains in New England and we haven't seen any snow yet. During the day it's been in the 50's. A little unusual for us. The ski resorts are not happy.:P

Yeah, just 2 days ago it was t-shirt weather during the day!

I was AT Elsinore this morning (stayed the night after jumping on Saturday). It was FREEZING. The snow and ice was on the cars this morning. It was really freaky. Also, the Ortegas (2500 feet) had snow on them to the base. . .it was wierd. . .

Went home to the low desert (palm desert, la quinta, indio area). We had ice and slush on the ground. . .it doesn't snow here. . .

Yucaipa is positioned 34.03 degrees north of the equator and 117.04 degrees west of the prime meridian.

Yeah, close to the foothills. Actually near the base.

Yucaipa! Then you must have a horse? I bet some of your neighbors even have a sleigh for weather like this.

I did the smart thing and sent Rich to the liquor store while I was taking my test. Of course, the test might have been more fun if I had downed a few shots before taking it. :)

Mmm... I just had some yummy hot stew, sitting in front of the fire... And now I'm having a cocktail and watching "Trainspotting"... :)

"Trainspotting"...

YES!
...and that toilet bowl tripping scene...

Yep, nothing like watching some dude swim around in poo while I eat my yummy stew.... Hey, that rhymes! :D (and it's a good thing I don't have a weak tummy for that sort of thing!) Rich had to close his eyes during that part...

That movie is somewhat depressing, but it's really well-done... and I love the soundtrack. "Oh, it's such a perfect day....."

I'd say it's very cynical. Very depressing in a funny way... Or funny in a very depressing way...:|
Great movie nonetheless...
