LouDiamond 1 #1 November 9, 2004 is a free program HERE that is absolutely amazing in what it can do. Not only can you get sat imagery of your DZ but pretty much anywhere in the world down to 1 m. From the site: " World Wind allows any user to zoom from satellite altitude into any place on Earth, leveraging high resolution LandSat imagery and Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) elevation data to experience Earth terrain (or any planet with the data) in visually rich 3D, just as if they were really there. Virtually visit anyplace in the world. Look across the Andes, into the Grand Canyon, over the Alps or along the African Sahara." If you do download it choose "open" instead of "save" as the zip file will come back as damaged if you try to save it for some reason."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

LouDiamond 1 #7 November 9, 2004 make sure you click on "open" and not save or you will be wasting your time. Trust me, I tried to save it like 5 times and each time the file would not unzip but the first time I selected "open" it installed like a charm."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

skydivingchad 0 #9 November 10, 2004 After 1 hour of downloading and installing all the required stuff for the program, it freezes when it starts up!!! I hate troubleshooting stuff like this. hookitt 1 #10 November 10, 2004 How much memory does your computer have? That program uses up about 110 MBs all on it's own. It uses up nearly all the CPU as well so if you're computer is slow, it may be doomed. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... davedlg 0 #12 November 22, 2004 I finally got around to playing with this program. VERY COOL Outside of the large download, this program is very processer and memory intensive. I have a very fast processer and a gig of memory and it still uses most of my system resources and internet bandwith. I have attached some screenshots. Fist picture is looking at Boulder, CO from the East. Second picture is the Colorado River in Cataract Canyon in Canyonlands NP, Utah Third picture is Moab, Utah from the North. Note Canyonlands Field (Skydive Moab) on the Lower Right edge of the picture. Compare to this picture that I took at the Moab Boogie last month. Fourth Picture is Moab from the West Fifth Picture is the Grand Canyon.
