Need some prayers please

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much, you guys, you all are bringing tears to my eyes. My family teases me all the time about "those" skydivers I hang out with...I think you all might have changed their minds about what kind of people we are. :)
I'll keep you all updated when I get information.

We/I, and our church will pray for him and the family.
He is beautiful. As a father of 3 (& one is a 2yr old boy) I can only imagine the fear and pain of the situation.
Our love and prayers will be sent ans long as need be.

I have an update...

Ryan's surgery is set for Nov. 11th. My brother is making calls to try and get the surgery moved up, but that may be the best that we can do. Ryan is on anti-seizure mediciation (trileptal), so hopefully it will stop any more hemmorrhages.

I also have the notes from the neurosurgeon for you medical types. It says, "...the MRI revealed at least 4 cavernous hemangiomas, relatively symmetrically anterior to both frontal horns and posterior to both occipital horns. The largest lesion is the right frontal hemangioma, which is 3-4 cm in size, with mixed hemmorage in it but minimal mass effect. I am concerned that a recurrent hemorrhage would carry with it a high mortality rate. I have recommended surgical resection of the right frontal lesion (which is within 1 cm of the cortical surface.)..."

Sigh...2 more weeks to go. [:/]

I have an update on Ryan with more positive things happening. The operation is on Nov. 9th now and it is at the Pediatric Hospital (the one we wanted) in our area. One of the problems was a piece of equipment that the doctor said wasn't working as well as he wanted. The hospital is ordering a new unit to come in time for Ryan's surgery.

The medication is still doing good in helping slow down the seizures. Here he was on Halloween yesterday with his sister and cousin.

Thanks again if you are able to keep him in your prayers for another week. :)

Update for everyone who has been so wonderful to pray for Ryan...

I just got the call from my mom. The surgery was this morning and is now over. The doctors were able to fix the 2 bad lesions on his brain and a blood clot. He is in intensive care and has to stay sedated until tomorrow morning when they will do another MRI. If that goes well, they will let him wake up.

He'll have to spend 5-7 days in the hospital and if all goes well he'll be able to return to daycare and his normal life in 2-3 weeks. There are still more lesions on his brain that have to be watched via more MRIs and EEGs in the next 18 months and he'll have to remain on the seizure medication during that time, but so far, so good. The doctor said the surgery went as well as could be expected.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers! I might be able to breathe now. :)
