DrunkMonkey 0 #1 November 12, 2004 What's a good tasting and VERY potent strain of Tea? I anticipate a few long nights coming up...
edwinsneller 0 #2 November 12, 2004 If you're looking for a caffeine fix coffee has more than tea. If you don't like coffee then black teas are your best bet. (Earl Grey, English Breakfast, etc.) When I drink tea, my favorite for taste is a nice first or second flush Darjeeling.--- Some days it's not even worth the effort to chew through the restraints. Sweet and goes down well. Keeps me up and going well past midnight after downing a 20 oz bottle at 7 pm. Girlfalldown 0 #7 November 12, 2004 If you want something that is going to light your up for hours try Yerba Mate. The trick is to do it the traditional way and use a mate gourd and bombilla. You put the bombilla (straw) in the gourd, fill the gourd about 3/4 of the way with the the loose leaf yerba mate tea and then fill it with hot water. It's strong as hell but after the first one you just keep adding hot water to it and drinking it using the same tea that's in the gourd. I'm telling you, it's like cocaine only it's actually good for you. I'm having some right now. This is the most common brand in the US YERBA MATE -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.)
antifnsocial 0 #8 November 12, 2004 You drink this stuff often don't you. Hmmm... explains a lot. I just drink coffee and chew expresso beans all day long. I bet if we were both in the same room it would look like the whole world was in slow motion compared to us. Please feel free to reply to my posts and pm's, but only if you're smart enough to understand what they really mean.

GeordieSkydiver 0 #13 November 12, 2004 I'm caffeine intolerant so coffee is out, but I like English breakfast tea. Here's some stuff I dug up when I was bored one day. The caffeine content varies with each tea based on the type, where it is grown, how it is processed, exposure to heat, brewing time, water temperature and number of infusions. Dry tea can have more caffeine than dry coffee by weight due to the difference in yield. Brewed tea typically has one-third the caffeine content of brewed coffee, depending on the preparation methods. A standard cup of coffee contains 70-180mg caffeine depending on the strength and method of preparation.1 Instant coffee generally contains less caffeine than coffee prepared from ground beans. Tea contains 20-35mg per cup.1 Chocolate also contains caffeine. Snowbird 0 #14 November 12, 2004 Irish Breakfast. Blackest tea I've ever had and has a kick. I think Stash makes it. If you don't like bitter tea, try English Breakfast, and put in 2 bags. Potent. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein
