mindway69 0 #26 November 2, 2004 Hey Kelly, I never post, so you won't have to worry about the letter while you're picking your jaw up off the floor. Lol. Anyway, I would say something like this: Thanks again for the opportunities I have had developing my career with you, and I wish you continued success. Damn, you're gonna think I know what I'm talking about...my plans are falling into place! Mmmmwauhahhaaa! Katie
Zep 0 #27 November 2, 2004 QuoteMan, am I ever nervous . . . what a stressful day. Between the election and giving my notice, I'm a big stress ball. The good thing is that I'm quitting because I found a better job, but my boss is gonna have an absolute shit fit. Anyway, just thought I'd share the good (although scary) news! Kelly This is your boss speaking, you can't quit cause I just fired you. Gone fishing
sunshine 2 #28 November 2, 2004 QuoteAnybody got a real one? I can't ask anyone in my office (obviously). It would kinda help if we saw the rest of the letter. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
kelel01 1 #29 November 2, 2004 Actually, Katie's answer was perfect. (Thanks, Katie. And Zep, that was fuckin' hysterical. You know what? I wouldn't care, because I can start my new job tomorrow if I want. Kelly

Stacy 0 #36 November 3, 2004 QuoteCongrats sweetheart! Where are you taking me to celebrate? Hopefully somewhere where men in short tight shorts with big boobs will serve you cheap beer, to get you back for where you took me in Atlanta! __
PhillyKev 0 #37 November 3, 2004 Clay took you to a bar in Atlanta where men with big boobs in tight shorts serve you beer? Or did he just take you to his house and server you beer? I'm confused?

Scotte30m3 0 #40 November 3, 2004 Why didn't you tell me you gonna quite you job last weekend? BTW I trashed my knee pretty good. Bruised the cartlige behind my knee cap and the muscles above and below my knee cap. After driving home I went to get out of my car and fell down. I decided it was a good time to go to the doctor. Thanks god nothing was broken or torn ligaments. Scott"You can't ride a bowl of goat. I've always said that"
kelel01 1 #41 November 3, 2004 Well, in answer to your question, I didn't know I was quitting last weekend. And I'm sorry to hear about your knee , Scotty-too-hottie. That sucks. How long will it take to heal? By the way, can someone please tell me where I'm getting this "Scotty-too-hottie" thing? I picked it up from somewhere, I know. Bolas 5 #42 November 3, 2004 I'm outing us both... but he is a wrestler. Scotty Too Hottie, Grand Master Sexy, and Rikishi were (are?) WWF (now WWE) wrestlers. They had a tag team called Too Cool. Clicky I used to watch wrestling, WCW, WWF, ECW. KInda sucks now there is no competetition and all the good matches are pay per view. Good luck in the new job and... Quotewe're putting new coversheets on all the TPS reports *before* they go out now. So if you could just remember to do that from now on, that'd be great. Alright! Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
kelel01 1 #43 November 3, 2004 LMAO! You're right! I used to live with two guys who watched wrestling, and for a little while I actually liked it. But that'll be our little secret.
Sheenster303 0 #44 November 3, 2004 Aw that sucks about your knee, Scott. It really didn't look too good afterwards. At least it's not broken or anything. Nice to meet you this weekend, btw! I'm so funny I crack my head open! P.M.S. #
Stacy 0 #45 November 3, 2004 QuoteOr did he just take you to his house and server you beer? I'm confused? Actually, Clay took me to his parents house too, where I had to keep him awake during general conversation with his mom and dad. But he also took me to some redneck place that was a hooters-wanna-be place. __
Scotte30m3 0 #46 November 3, 2004 I hope you are atleast giving them a two week notice. You never want to burn bridges. Healing? I'm not sure I have to go see my doctor tomorrow. I thinking it won't take too long. I am going to Hawaii again. I will only be gone for a week this time but it will back up to the Thanksgiving Holiday. I will have my daughter that week so, I don't know how soon I will be able to come out again. I dunno, Scott"You can't ride a bowl of goat. kelel01 1 #47 November 3, 2004 I'm giving them a month's notice. They want 6 weeks, but I said no, mainly because my new employer won't wait that long. So, Hawaii, eh? Well, have fun, and tell your daughter a girl she has never met (me) says hi.
 kelel01 1 #48 November 4, 2004 Ok, so now my current boss and my potential boss are playing hardball. So maybe I'm not leaving just yet. I was offered a new position at my current company, because $300,000 a year couldn't make me stay in my current job. (My current job sucks ass). However, I like my company, and they've offered me a very nice opportunity to develop my career in an industry with which I'm familiar. Ugh. Sorry, just talking in circles trying to figure this out.
 bob.dino 1 #49 November 4, 2004 Go. If, once you've decided to go, you change your mind and stay, two things happen: 1- You piss off the new company. After all, you reneged on a deal. Especially if they think you used their job offer as a negotiating chip. 2- Potentially, you're never quite trusted any more at the old company. Especially if they think you used the job offer as a negotiating chip. My advice would be go, experience something different in a new enviornment. You are young enough that you really don't have to settle into anything yet. Try out something new. If it doesn't work you can always go back in your original direction, but at least you will have seen a bit more of what is out there, and if you leave on good terms made a few more connections. I get frustrated staying in the same place for too long though. If you really think you would be content, sticking around the same place for 5 or 6 years right out of school will look good on a resume in the future. Good luck w/ the decision!!!
