skymama 37 #1 November 2, 2004 Just wondering. Reports from the early voting had people waiting in lines for hours. It took me 22 minutes from the time I got into the line to when I walked out. I could have gone straight in had my last name started with A-K. I feel pretty lucky it was so quick! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

skymama 37 #3 November 2, 2004 I think the polling places are open until 8:00 tonight. Don't blame me if FL screws up again. I have spent less than 30 minutes with my ballot... I love this vote by mail thing... _________________________________________ The Angel of Duh has spoke
dtpilot 0 #6 November 2, 2004 I have to drive 2 hours just to get back home to vote so I am thinking that it will take much longer to vote than 2 hours.... Gotta vote though "Believe me! ChasingBlueSky 0 #9 November 2, 2004 Quotewhen will the results be known? (pre-challenge decision) The prelude to the recount you mean? The news will be on the air until 1 or 2am. I'm home sick today, but will head out in just a bit to vote. My roommate said there was no line here._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... jb092 0 #15 November 2, 2004 Well if you had a chioce of 5 mins or less that would have been me. The thing that took the longest was the old lady who couldn't my last name in the sign-in book. What could possibly go wrong?
Shotgun 1 #16 November 2, 2004 I voted last week from the comfort of my own home. But it still took me a few hours because I had to do some last-minute reading on some of the propositions on the ballot...
pajarito 0 #17 November 2, 2004 GA is all electronic. NICE! That was the easiest trip to the polls that I've ever had. They check your ID, make sure you're who you say you are, make sure you're on the registration list, and they hand you a plastic card. Insert into the slot, touch screen selections, and you're done. No waiting in line for me either. Then again, I do live in LaGrange (50 minutes SW of Atlanta). I heard, however, that some voting machines have been showing up with votes already on them. Not in GA but some state up North (can't remember which). In the numbers of about 1500 votes if I'm not mistaken. Heard it on the news. That sucks. RevJim 0 #18 November 2, 2004 about 45 minutes, but it's not my fault! I got to the polls at 7:20, and found out they didn't open here until 8. 40 minutes of waiting and 5 to vote. Glad I was early though, as when I left the line was waaaay longer, with close to an hour wait, and climbing. It's your life, live it! freeflynNicki 0 #19 November 2, 2004 about 1/2 an hoiur for me as well...my registered place is at a local high school -- i was mistaken for a student at first (that happened last time as well)--any fway, paper and pen used in AL also. seems to work, although the voting by mail does sound nice...convenient.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PMS#269 Team Dirty Sanchez#
Girlfalldown 0 #20 November 2, 2004 Took me about 25 minutes. The line was pretty short. Only 4 people in front of me. Bumped into some skydiving buddies as I was leaving. That was cool!! -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.)
skymama 37 #21 November 2, 2004 Yesterday, Barbara Striessand called me, telling me to go vote. Now, Arnold Schwarzenegger just called me to tell me to vote for Bush. I feel so important. I wonder if they'll let me call them next week to have lunch together. craichead 0 #23 November 2, 2004 I left my condo 10:30am to go vote. It took me about 10 minutes to walk to my polling place, about 20 minutes to stand in line for my precinct (the polling place, a Holiday Inn, serves 2 precincts, and there was no line for the other precinct), and about 5 minutes to vote. I don't quite understand why my polling place is over half a mile away from my condo and serves two precincts. There is a perfectly huge Catholic church AND school next door and a fire station right down the road. The last two places I lived in Chicago, the polling places for each were within 2 blocks of my apartment... Oh well, I'm doing pretty well if that's my only complaint about the actual process of voting this year. Ooh! I just got a call from Malcolm Jamal Warner telling me to get out of the house and vote! Last night I got a call from Chris Rock! _Pm__ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)
weegegirl 2 #24 November 2, 2004 DAMN!!! It just took me over 2 1/2 hours to vote!!!!!!!!!! The line was ridiculous!!! I almost read through the entire "Pilot and its Parachute" book whilst waiting. They told me they were expecting lines like that for the entire day. About 1/2 way through my wait, they started letting people with small children go ahead... thank god. Imagine waiting in line with a 2 year old for 3 hours.
