I went paragliding!

Recommended Posts

We had a beautiful day here yesterday. Since I had received a gift certificate for a tandem Paraglide, I took advantage of a beautiful Fall day. This was a fun experience but in no way does it compare to skydiving. The ride up to the launch site in this old 'service' truck was the scariest part of the whole experience. Yikes! We should have hiked to the top.

Wow! Beautiful scenery!!

I went paragliding in '97 in Interlaken, Switzerland - it was breathtaking. You could practically see to the bottoms of these crystal-clear lakes, and the mountains were awesome. I'd love to do it again someday...

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

It was fun and fun to watch. These pilots really work to find a thermal to get them higher. We even flew over a nudist camp! (no, we didn't/couldn't see anyone;). It was a rather crisp cold fall day so I don't think anyone was out there! We did fly with a red tailed hawk though, very cool!

Paragliding sounds like a blast...How long are you up in the air?

Last year I went snow skiing at Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado. We were skiing and a canopy came over our heads.. it was cool but sure bet it they were freezing their asses off.

They used the ski lifts to take them to the top so Sounds like their ride to the top was much better than the truck ride from hell...

Sweet send more pics if you have um

The amount of time you are in the air depends on what kind of thermals they can get. I was up about 45 min., but he had another tandem to do, so we had to land:(. Ha, a ski lift would be much nicer! It is cold and they tell you to dress warmly. I did have a flight suit on over all my fleece and a good pair of gloves helps. You should do one, it's awesome. Don't expect any adrenaline rush though, like you get from going out the door!

Great fun, isn't it? I started foot-launching my skydiving canopy back in 87, and have been hooked ever since. If your canopy is 150 or larget, you should be able to get off the ground.

Running, running, flying...

Love it.
