ChasingBlueSky 0 #7 November 2, 2004 What a messed up movie! I LOVED IT! Total mind f*ck. One of the best horror movies I have seen in a long time, and some good scares - not slasher scary, but more like Seven. Just found out it was made in 18 days in a small warehouse in LA. That really helps with the gritty feel of the movie. It's been years since I went to a movie where people in the theatre were yelling at the characters to do something. Anyone else see it? If you haven't seen it, don't read anything about it - part of the charm of this movie is discovering what is happening the same time the characters find out._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... crotalus01 0 #8 November 2, 2004 heh, have to disagree. i thought it was a total and complete utter fucking piece of shit. not a suspenseful scene in it, it made ZERO sense, unrealistic in every way humanly possible, godawful acting, even worse direction, some of the worst most inane dialogue i have heard in years etc. i will not go into depth about any of it since i am sure many folks here havent seen it, but my advice? wait for HBO, its not even worth a rental. or better yet just avoid it completely. i wish i had the 100 minutes back to do something more fun, like get my teeth pulled with no anesthesia and comparing this "film" to Se7en or Silence of the Lambs is blasphemy. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...

One of very few films that have had me leaving a cinema after a film feeling cheated of my money.
MWGemini 0 #10 November 2, 2004 I have to say that SAW was much better than I feared. Even my fiancee liked it. The acting was a little too forced at times, but the overall plot and story was great. Definitely reminded me of Seven and Cube. Worth seeing in theatres, maybe even worth seeing twice to really catch all the details. I'll definitely rent it when it comes to DVD. jtval 0 #14 November 2, 2004 I think they could have introduced the characters a little better (more indepth) but I like the idea of the movie. Apparently the Preview my friends saw cut apart to make the movie we saw in the theatresMy photos My Videos
skydiver30960 0 #15 November 2, 2004 Quote...godawful acting... Bingo. I thought it was a good premise, and the first thirty minutes or so showing all the previous murders were truly BADASS. But Cary Elwes' acting was AWFUL. Elvisio "two thumbs down" Rodriguez

jtval 0 #18 November 2, 2004 well I was under the assumption everyone knew it was filmed in 18 days. and yes it was kinda slow but I think the premise was really the whole point of the movie LOL (I'm trying to justify that I didnt waste my time fo rthe last 11 months, while I was waiting for this movie to come out)My photos My Videos

I thought it might be interesting and that I might wish to see it until I watched Ebert and Roeper utterly PAN it on their t.v. show the other night. They said that it relied on preposterous illogic and contrivances -- exactly the kind of thing I HATE in movies. I'll see it if it ever becomes available for free at the library. -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" Mike Sounds like the same film, but what I saw wouldn't have been value for money if it had been free, never mind being worth multiple cinema viewings and DVD rentals.
