gemini 0 #1 October 24, 2004 Help! I'm trapped in burlington with grey, low overcast skies and drizzle. Yesterday morning was ok, but had to work so today is only day off til Friday. Anyone around here? Any ideas of something fun to do? Thanks & blues (I wish!), Jim Blue skies, Jim
flyhi 24 #2 October 24, 2004 You could go over to Orilla and get a bikini wax ($20 - $40 depending on what... size?), have a tanning session, and engage in some really good ear candling. (No idea what that is, but it costs $35 and it's in Canada, so I bet it has something to do with hockey and beer.)Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics. MWGemini 0 #3 October 24, 2004 Ear candling is a way to thoroughly clean your ears. My aunt was a health nut, and did that to me a few times when I was a kid. I wish I could find them now, they work really well. Basically a hollow tube (the candle) that is made from some kind of fabric and (I think) parafin wax is inserted into the ear. You lay on the floor with the head slightly titled, light the end of it on fire, and have someone snip the burnt end off every few minutes so that it will continue to burn cleanly. The fire causes air to be drawn through the tube from inside the ear canal, bringing with it all the wax and other crap that you never knew was in there. Sounds really wierd, but I guarantee you that you'll be happy you did it. If anyone out there happens to know where I can purchase some, let me know. Thanks, Mike
gemini 0 #4 October 24, 2004 Wow that would make my day! Come on, I know there are some Burnaby jumpers around here who don't have anything to do either... Blue skies, Jim
gemini 0 #5 October 25, 2004 Since it was Sunday the spa was closed. Even with the rain decided to drive down to Burnaby anyway. Got to visit with the DZO (his new house is looking really good), Scott, Krista and met several new people. Then drove to a local winery and drank wine and bought a few bottles to take back to Houston. Think I'll come back next summer when the Otter returns. Looks like a cool place to hang out.
