Michele 1 #26 October 18, 2004 I've got to be totally honest... I lost my mind. Not during it; I did what had to be done; but under reserve, and on the ground, and then for the next three days...I was lost. You can read my Mal story here.... And here's my next jump story.... Good job on handling the issue, and know that whatever you're experiencing in terms of concern, fear, anxiety is totally normal. flyingarab 0 #27 October 18, 2004 Well, the video is on my site. Diving line twists...I looked at it..fought it...then...grabbed my handles...it was so peaceful..I waiting until terminal to pull the reserve..probably would have felt better on my neck if I had panicked and pulled the reserve right after cutting away.Sincerely, FlyingArab www.flyingarab.com
RevJim 0 #28 October 18, 2004 My first reserve ride (skydive IL, '01 I think), rental gear-PD170, hard pull, went silver, and stood up the pd143r in the peas. didn't freak me out at all, and I get on another load later that day. I had 40ish jumps....I was too new to be scared. My second reserve ride, last year, on my first night jump. hard pull, went silver (again). screamed in under my pd126r, and lived to tell about it. grabbed a student transition rig that I had never jumped before with a huge assed (to me) falcon in it, and went right back up for my second night jump. was too pumped on the night jumps to be scared. third reserve ride, hard pull on a bird man jump, late last year. went silver, had time to unzip my arms (not legs), unstow my toggles, turn along a tree line, check for obstacles such as power lines, and flare, waaaaay off dz. I was toooo happy to be alive to be scared. to this day, no cutaways though. basically, if I can manage to get the main out, I'm good to go. It's your life, live it!
