Casch 0 #1 October 15, 2004 I am going in to take the GED test soon and I need some basic preparation. I'm actually really frustrated right now, I'm working on a really friggin simple algebra I equation. I haven't done algebra in ages but this is seriously not supposed to be that hard. If someone could walk me through this equation I think it'll bring back a chunk of intelligence I just realised has gone missing ... 2A/3 = 8 + 4A the answer I got using the solving function on my calculator is -2.4 but I can't actually get that number working through it. Laugh at me all you want, I can take it. Grrr I'm soo pissed lol Please help
skysprite 0 #2 October 15, 2004 Oregon apparently has higher standards than New Mexico (surprise surprise!) for the GED tests... the math portion when I took the tests was extremely easy. There was maybe a pre algebra question, if even that! Math has never been my strongest suit, so I didn't compain. Good luck. ~skysprite
freakshow 0 #3 October 15, 2004 multiply both sides by 3 getting 2A=24 +12A subtract 12A from both sides getting -10A=24 divide by -10 geting A= -2.4 B.L. (the brain)
juanesky 0 #4 October 15, 2004 2A/3-12A/3=8 -10A/3=8 -10A=24 A=-2.4"According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
Casch 0 #5 October 15, 2004 Omg...ugh. I was actually multiplying the 2a by 3, getting 6a and that's what was throwing me off. Wow is that irritating.. Thanks guys
 freakshow 0 #6 October 15, 2004 No problem good luck on the test B.L. Good luck on the GED and don't stop there. Education is worth it. Blue Skies. Thanks, yeah I'm getting this taken care of so I can take some classes this winter. I was only a credit and a half from my Diploma, which is a shame, and a long story. I'll be happy to get this over with
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
