Boomtown rats

The silicon chip inside her head.
Gets switched to overload,
And nobody's gonna go to school today,
She's going to make them stay at home,
And daddy doesn't understand it,
He always said she was as good as gold,
And he can see no reason.
Cos there are no reasons.
What reason do you need to be shown.

Tell me why.......

Yeah, the Boomtown Rats were good... in a crappy garage band kind of way. :P

I read Bob Geldof's autobiography... pretty interesting. He's a bit of a psycho. The part where he talks about starring in "The Wall" is funny... Apparently he hated Pink Floyd's music and didn't want to be in their movie... but his manager talked him into it and he ended up having a miserable time and getting really depressed during the filming... probably a good thing since he was playing a psycho depressed dude. (I think he was perfect for that part.)

That song was based on a true story out of San Diego. Some chick went psycho and shot at student son the school campus across the street from the house she lived in. Can't remember what year that was....

i believe it was '77-'78. Bob Geldof was interviewing at a radio station in San Deigo when it happened. Supposedly a reporter had called her and asked why she was shooting at the kids and she said "I don't like Mondays". I used to have a tape with that on it. I don't even know if I have it anymore.

I read his autobiography years ago. He was definitely an interesting person.
