yoink 321 #54 October 4, 2004 QuoteGeez. Does anyone live anywhere that's not a target for natural disaster? England - we call 50mph winds "near-hurricane strength" and 3 inches of rain "flood-like deluge" just to make the weather interesting.... it's grey here a lot... there's cloud and drizzle, and that's about it. And the Scots. They could be a natural disaster I suppose...

jumper03 0 #57 October 4, 2004 any word if it's going to really go? Or is this still just that little pocket that was left from the last one? Unless some new magma has moved in, I don't think it's gonna be much *he says sarcastically from a very safe distance* Jump -------------------Scars remind us that the past is real
Amazon 7 #58 October 4, 2004 There were harmonic tremors all weekend.. New magma is moving up and I think this is just heat transfer hitting the large amount of groundwater in and under the mountain. This looked like a larger throat clearing from the last two events. Still steady seismicity so there is a LOT more to come.

SkyDolphin 0 #63 October 5, 2004 I went up to the mountain on Sunday hoping to catch some of the action. Figures Mother Nature would wait till Monday. Oh well. It was still fun hanging out, taking pictures and my daughter and I ended up on the KATU (Portland) 11:00 news. She was hula hooping and I guess the reporters were tired of the same old interviews and thought a 12 year old hula hooping in front of the mountain would be something completely different. It was a fun experience for her. Rhonda
Amazon 7 #64 October 5, 2004 The mountain has had a pretty good ash emission this morning and its headed to the North east. The plume is going towards Packwood and Hwy 12 at White Pass. The Dome is now building and the flir shots they are showing has LOTS of heat in the dome area. Yesterday it had bulged upwards about 100 ft high over a very large area in the crater. Washington is going back to being the Evergray State to the east of the mountain
