Whats your favorite Skydiving movie?

Recommended Posts

you missed Drop Zone! Wesley going from student to world class competitor in 2 weeks! But Charley Sheen was awesome in Terminal Velocity
Pete Draper,

Just because my life plan is written on the back of a Hooter's Napkin, it's still a life plan.... right?

Favorite was Drop Zone...

Had a few friends in it as extras and bit parts along with the ever famous Pink Porter that I've jumped from...great flying by the pilot, an old friend as well.

Have to say that Wesley was also pretty cool but I am a Gary Busey fan from way back.

Other that that one I'd have to say Point Break which would run a close second if not tie with Drop Zone.

Thanks for the POLL!!!

I love how Sheen cuts away, deploys his reserve but when he lands his reserve is still closed and only the main compartment is open

In dropzone, after the CReW wrap and cutaway sequence you can see the reserve container is open. I was impressed with that little detail.
Didn't Tom Aiello do most of the BASE stuff on this. Shows.
Plus, is it just my imagination, or does Gary Busey very suited to the role of a skydiver. I don't know why but he just comes across as a real skydiver. Does anyone know if he actually jumps.
Edit: misspelled Gary Busey

definitely Cutaway! I mean, come on, who can forget the wind tunnel segment, with Entrain's "We Are All Connected-All One" song playing in the background?! And when Vic gets his A license, closing pin necklace, his kiss pass!!! Awww, skydiving is soooooooooo romantic! OR maybe I'm just thinking it is , my ex gave me Cutaway as a gift.:)
Fandango is definitely the funniest though!

“Honeymoon in Vegas (1992).”
Not my favorite skydiving movie but has a good parachute scene nonetheless. Thought I’d add to the list. It also has sentimental value as I used to do "Elvis" jumps paid for by the city of Columbus, GA in the early to mid-90's. :(
Hey baby...Elvis has left the airplane... ;) B|

P.S. I was the young Elvis.

Dropzone (though Cutaway is a close second). Thanks to Guy Manos for the movies (and my Lightning 176 :)

Dropzone is definitely the best in terms of acting and cinematic quality, but Cutaway is a classic and is great to laugh at. Plus you get to see the guy from Starship Troopers be the bad guy with a non regulation hair cut in the Golden Knights. Somebody told me it makes for a great drinking game movie as well.

Just curious...
Cutaway is my favorite, I love the adrenalin level the movie presents, among other things, since Ive been jumping I have seen alot of "BS" scenes, but its still a great movie!

Cutaway is my favorite too. I picked up a copy for less than the cost of the tape it was recorded on. Can't beat a deal like that!
