junkyarddog 0 #1 September 27, 2004 Hey all, I just wanted to let everyone know what an awesome time I had at the farm this weekend. Lots of firsts thats for damn sure. My first cutaway. Lance's first time in the pond while sleeping on an air bed (great video by the way)...and an assortment of others. But I must say the drive home really sucked. Thanks to all that came out it really was a blast. ...Hey Cindy can I jump my canopy now? Orfun #4 Juego Hombre Rodriguez
Airman1270 0 #2 September 27, 2004 Amen - A real nice time. Had an awesome 12+ point 2-way with Frank, as well as a couple of clusterf**k loads, chasing people around the sky. Calvin enjoyed watching videos and riding around in the golf cart. On another point, what's going on with the blasting music in the camping area at 4:00am? I love music and enjoy it loud at times, but, gee, was I the only one trying to get some sleep? (Actually, it was interesting music and I was enjoying it, but it would have been better listened to at another time.) Reminds me of that boogie last year at Thomaston. As we were sitting down to the barbeque dinner at sunset the DJ fired up his rave crap and blasted it so loud we couldn't carry on a conversation with people sitting at the same table! Not to call all rave "crap"; I do enjoy a lot of it. It's just that, as a musician, I can only take the same musical phrase being repeated for so long before I develop an intense desire to hear something else or kick the speakers. If I wanted to hear the same riff for 10 minutes I'd play the live version of "Free Bird." Anyway, yes - a great time. Thanks Hans, and a special high-five to Admiral Lance. Hope to see you guys soon. Cheers, Jon S. (We weren't able to get the high-altitude load up because they were two slots short. Could the load have been filled if some people had gone to bed an hour earlier? )

This was more noticable this time because the music didn't start until after 3:00. Until then there were people hanging near the fire all through the night, but nothing real loud. Anyway, don't ever repeal the "party zone." Maybe next time I'll take a nap at sunset; then I'll be able to keep up with you guys after midnight. Damn, getting older sucks, except for the alternative. I saw your cutaway (in the distance) just before we left. What happened? Did you get your stuff back? blueskyserenity 0 #5 September 27, 2004 QuoteIf you want a quiet camp, go to a campground cause a dropzone at night is a partyzone. Oh you silly, silly boy!!! Jon, he just doesn't get it, no worries, he's just a babe. Those w/ the loud music have already been given SHIT by the tent closet!!! Though I do agree that the nightlife can be very active it needn't not be LOUD... (But I was sleeping like a baby w/ two kids so what do I know?) Jon, Paul can't stop talking about his 'friend'. It was great seeing other kids there. I'm glad Paul and Nora got the oppoutunity to hang out w/ my friends. We all went swimming and fishing in the pond. Good times. Good memories. Thanks to everyone who helped me keep my eye on him and entertain them. Scott, no, you cannot pay my son $1 to whack people w/ his bat Paul was very sad when it came time to break the tent down. Kindof like his mom at the end of a wonderful weekend...only to smile again and look forward to the next!!!I like coconuts. You can break them open and they smell like ladies lying in the sun! goofyjumper 0 #6 September 27, 2004 I have to say it was a great weekend! I had alot of fun. I was a little worried about Kelly's cutaway (because I packed it!) But they do call those canopies Spinettos! Anyways the best part was Lance sleeping on the air mattress in the swoop pond.........damn that was funny!.............and a thanks goes out to Lance for being a good sport about it............all I can say is "Gald damn" "ya'll are a bunch of punk ass &%#$^"----------------- I love and Miss you so much Honey! junkyarddog 0 #7 September 27, 2004 It was a diving line twist, classic spinletto malfuction from what I have read about them. I got my main back but lost the freebag. Well worth the price of admission though it was about the weirdest feeling i've ever felt; being tossed into the dead air. FlyingJ 0 #9 September 27, 2004 What a great weekend! I managed to get 9 jumps including a butt load of firsts. On top of that, I think I'm actually starting to figure out what I'm doing up there! I did my first sunset atltitude hop & pop on Saturday night. If that was the last jump I ever made I would be content. SO amazing spinning around and seeing a beautiful moon rising on one horizon and the sun setting on the other. Extra thanks to Frank, John K., John S. and Faye for being so interested in jumping with me and helping me to get a clue with what I'm doing, and to Lee for hanging around to video my last jump even though he probably should have been getting on the road. Marianne - Paul was a lot of fun to have around, especially around the fire on Saturday evening. I think there were a lot of jealous guys watching him run around with no pants on! He gave me quite a harmonica concert on Sunday afternoon while we were hanging out on the golf cart. I don't know if I've ever laughed as hard as I did watching Lance wake up and realize he was in the middle of the pond. Holy hell that was funny, and bravo to Lance for being such a damn good sport about it.Killing threads since 2004.

I thought I'd picked a good spot, not too close to the hangar; not too far to walk. In fact, I avoided the "main" camping area near the pond so I wouldn't disturb people with MY music.
