How do I get it off?

There is a downed pine tree near my house and somehow pine tar from it got on my convertable top. How do I get it off? There is also some on the paint. HELP, windex nor shout work.

Turtle Wax makes a bug & tar remover -- you should be able to find it at the auto parts store. It's supposed to work on pine tree sap among other things.

Give it a try.

Is it a hard top or soft top convertable?

If its a hard top, WD-40 gets tar off pretty well, although I wouldn't try that on a soft top. Try something like GooGone on a soft top.

It is a light tan soft top. I'm afriad of putting too much on it because it may change the color.

Butter. Rub it in gently and wipe it off. The butter can be washed off easily, and voila, no pine sap.

What about Goo Gone? That stuff seems to work on everything and I've never had it ruin any material yet. It even worked on my jumpsuit when I had tape residue on it from taping glow lights to it for night jumps.
