Lucas changed Darth Vaders real face to match the actor portraying him now. Gone is the old man face with the burn scars. Empre Strikes Back will never be the same.. Darth has been bastardized forever.

its one thing to release a directors cut of a movie saying "this is how i wished I'd dont it" its another entirely to attempt to rewrite history for your own political agendas..

I agree. And Farscape was much better than Star Trek. But we're not talking about quality, we're talking about cultural history. Shakespeare wasn't a very good writer compared to some of his comtemporaries, but his works were popular and have stood the test of time. Similary, the Star Trek phenomena will be known for far longer than Farscape.

The technology at the time would have had them making an interpositive from the original negatives, and then from the interpositive, a duplicate negative. The prints you saw in the theaters would have been printed from the dupe negs. You could make many many dupe negs from an interpositive, so it is unlikely the original negaitve is worn out from over printing. Hollywood knows enough to take care of original negatives.
