Slappie 9 #51 September 23, 2004 Ok one more tidbit of info I think you'll find very interesting.......... Lucas changed Darth Vaders real face to match the actor portraying him now. Gone is the old man face with the burn scars. Empre Strikes Back will never be the same.. Darth has been bastardized forever. Zenister 0 #52 September 23, 2004 lets not forget him digitally removing all the guns from ET and replacing them with radios... its one thing to release a directors cut of a movie saying "this is how i wished I'd dont it" its another entirely to attempt to rewrite history for your own political agendas.. Lucas has become a hack. I wont support him in any thing he does any longer....____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. billvon 2,991 #53 September 23, 2004 >As far as Lucas's work goes, if you want a better piece of science >fiction, get his recently remastered and re-released THX1138. I agree. And Farscape was much better than Star Trek. But we're not talking about quality, we're talking about cultural history. Shakespeare wasn't a very good writer compared to some of his comtemporaries, but his works were popular and have stood the test of time. Similary, the Star Trek phenomena will be known for far longer than Farscape.

Morcyk 0 #55 September 23, 2004 QuoteIf Star Wars is our cultural history, the USA is in much worse shape than I thought. Star Wars was junk when I saw it first at 7 years old, and every sequel since then has been an equally poorly written movie with lame effects. Likewise on the blasphemy there. Luckily the orignals still exist in my home, although badly warped from humidity. If only they had DVD burners back then.

HOW DARE YOU!!!...where's my lightsaber? __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.
Jumpervint 0 #58 September 24, 2004 The technology at the time would have had them making an interpositive from the original negatives, and then from the interpositive, a duplicate negative. The prints you saw in the theaters would have been printed from the dupe negs. You could make many many dupe negs from an interpositive, so it is unlikely the original negaitve is worn out from over printing. Hollywood knows enough to take care of original negatives. Hehe, well I never wanted to be a mere Jedi although I did like the green lightsaber. My aspirations were always to be the emporer... as soon as I knew he existed. Jumpervint 0 #60 September 24, 2004 You say neon lights like it's a bad thing. I love neon. I have neon on my house and in my house and my wife makes it in our garage. Her neon helps pay for my jumps. Don't be dissing neon.... Vint. . . . . "Make it hard again."
