Don't be such an alarmist. Maximum sustained winds of 40 mph?!?!?!?! Ivan was 160 mph with gusts up to 200 mph. Jeanne is a gentle zephyr in comparison.

What concerns me though, if you look at that last circle (8am Sunday), it has an "H" inside it which corresponds to hurricane force winds. Of course, that is still 5 days away and a lot could change by then. However if it strengthins to hurricane force by the Bahamas, it could be pretty nasty by the time it makes landfall in Florida.

Well...It's official...Jeanne's a Hurricane now. For all of you in Florida, I hope this projected track is accurate..

As for me...I'm headed off to West Virginia to go whitewater rafting! What's left of Ivan should be hitting there this weekend make this an interesting trip to say the least. I'm expecting high water...

Good Lord...after teasing us for a week (bad Jeanne, bad!), Jeanne changed her track and is projected to hit Cape Canaveral at noon on Sunday. And just when I thought I was going to jump again this weekend after the other 2 hurricanes. Silly me.

I quit already. I've only had power back for a little over a week and still don't have telephone. The dropzone has barely been up and running (Sebastian) and now...Jeanne which we thought should already be long gone and Lisa is still out there somewhere too.

Just got my 70 Gal of gas in the garage again! How I love pack-ratting fuel for the generator. So much for jumping this weekend. My home DZ (Seb) will never be working at this rate!

Any fellow jumpers in the area, I throw a hell of a hurricane party. Last one for Frances was nuts, this one should be just as fun. I have enough power to run the house with A/C and all so it a comfy place to get trashed and sleep.
