Packed up and moved across the US, leaving my entire family and most of my friends, at the end of that summer to take a new job. Drove 1300+ miles one way to surprise someone. Well, by adverturous I mean spontanious, I tend to plan details out for stuff. Even the random motorcycle trip that Morgan and I took last month, the idea was random but after the idea was established I already knew exactly what routes we were taking, where we were staying, even the places I wanted to eat at (not to mention I could picture the places I knew I would stop for gas). Honestly, that IS adventurous for me. Other than jumping.... I am planning to make a Move next summer similar to the others. I will be quitting my job of 20 years and moving out of my hometown alone. BIG move for me. I won't be moving without at job, so not That courageous and only moving 130 miles away. I guess my only other adventure .. was really just a crazy idea. I flew a friend from Springfield IL to Cleveland OH, in the middle of the night in a single engine plane. Just because it was a nice night to fly. We intended to leave in the morning, but it was so nice that night we just packed up on a whim and went. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites Amazon 7 #11 September 22, 2004 You need to go Whitewater sailing across the Columbia River bar.. in my 22' sloop... scares me almost every time.. even on a dead calm day the current swells on an outgoing tide (ebb tide) are about 8 to 10 ft where the river meets the ocean and flowing at 5 knots... in the summer at low river levels. But when the conditions are not ideal.. then it gets REALLLLY fun.. with huge breaking waves.... and winds doing strange things when you are in a trough of a huge wave. http://www.boatoregon.com/CoastalWaters/Columbia.htm WHITE KNUCKLES WOO HOO GOD its a rush most days....With a Motorboat you can power thru it.. in the sailboat... you have to pit your skill and knowledge of the bar against the elements. Missed my plane the next morning for Phuket Thailand. Got on another plane. Worked crew on my oldest friend's sailboat as we sailed it from Thailand to Israel (with side adventures into Sri-Lanka, India, Nepal, Djibouti, etc). Got back 4.5 months later. Picked up my stuff. Moved to where my cutie lived. Got married. Moved away from said cutie. Got divorced. Got over it. Started skydiving. Accepted a volunteer position with AmeriCorps in the Florida Keys. Funding for said position fell through. Now I'm living with family in Atlanta while looking for another AmeriCorps position. But, I started skydiving in the meantime and am still trying to decide what is next. I would still love to volunteer, but it sure would be tough to skydive if I was working fulltime for no money! Paddle guided a whitewater raft down Class 5+ Gore Canyon having never seen it before. At least most of the paddlers were also professional raft guides. 3. Went to Costa Rica with no clue what we were going to do. We ended up going on a backpacking trip through the rainforest and crossing croc infested rivers. 4. Got a "real job" 5. Rowed a raft down the Grand Canyon. It was the best 18-days of my life! 6. Jumped out of an airplane. Then did it again. and again. and again....
