kelel01 1 #1 September 20, 2004 Hey, let's come in on Monday morning and get fired! Sounds like a plan! I decided to hit "reply" instead of "forward" on one of my work e-mails this morning and sent a nice, bitchy e-mail to one of our clients (which I meant to forward to my friend). I recalled it, but I'm waiting to see if it works or not. Anyone in the Atlanta area hiring a good-hearted soul who made a mistake that she will NOT repeat (ever, ever again)? How badly have YOU screwed up, and did you get fired for it? Kelly
adamjenner 0 #2 September 20, 2004 yikes! lets just hope it's all okay! but once i worked at a winery and i accidently opend a valve on a tank which released 500 litres of wine all over the place. i didn't get fired but let's say it was taken off my paycheque.... yoink 321 #3 September 20, 2004 Sorry! but maybe it's not so bad - the client may find it funny! I'd send them another e-mail immediately apologising profusely and explaining your complete lack of IT skills (unless you work in IT) and promise to take a course to differentiate between reply and forward! That's the best I got... You have to screw up pretty badly (over here anyway) to really get fired... Isn't there a warning procedure there? Verbal, written and then booted? happythoughts 0 #5 September 20, 2004 In such circumstances, I recommend lying. "I left my computer turned on while I was at a meeting. I think someone was playing a joke. I don't even think lip-waxing is healthy, why would I say that?"
kelel01 1 #6 September 20, 2004 Actually yes. Although one of my producers will probably want me fired right away. He's always hated me because he's a moron, and he knows I know it. That was kind of the gist of the e-mail, but not so harsh.
kelel01 1 #7 September 20, 2004 Well, the problem is I would say this to the producer's face, but not to the client ABOUT the producer. He knows I can't stand him.

chaoskitty 0 #14 September 20, 2004 If you know the client, I would call them and apologize profusely. If you dont know them, I would send an apology to the same email. Unless theyre a complete ass.. they'll understand that it was a mistake. You cant take back the information you gave them though. You can just hope that the client wont rat you out. kelel01 1 #19 September 20, 2004 I don't really know them, but I was advised against contacting her until I know if she read it or not. My co-workers said that if it was recalled and she didn't read it, she would seriously wonder what I was calling to apologize for.
