First off-DZ landing

Recommended Posts

The wind board is updated in the morning and then adjusted throughout the day if major changes are needed. The board stated the ground wind was 15 at 050 and at 3000 ft it was 28 at 060 (and around 30 for 6k, 9k and higher). I think that was relatively accurate, however I think at 1000 ft the winds were closer to 28 than they were to 15. That might explain the lack of penetration into the wind during the first part of your final approach.

Oh ya, ask John Lyman about the notation on the windboard (or one of the other instructors for that matter). He will even tell you how they decide what jump run should be given the condition of the winds.

***Shouldn't the spotter for the load cough up some too!? ***

Last I heard, you are your own spotter...Look before you leap and any other such cliche' that may apply. ;)

This isn't about blame...this is about BEER! When 6 people land out, including the student's COACH, it seems a little funny if he's the only one that owes beer.

Might make one think the purpose of beer rules is to get lots of free suds from the new guys.
