jumper03 0 #1 September 21, 2004 Why not? I've been thinking about it awhile and the other day I saw they now have tongue studs that vibrate Anybody got one of those? Does it shake your brain? peregrinerose 0 #2 September 21, 2004 I know I'd sure like it if my husband had his tongue pierced and had a vibrating ring in it! Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

Nightingale 0 #5 September 21, 2004 I used to have one. really liked it. however, I had to take it out because I was a teacher. I'd love to do it again, but it hurt too damn much. It hurts, not when they do it, but the next day, and for the next two weeks. I was living on slim fast because solid food was hell.
jumper03 0 #6 September 21, 2004 QuoteI used to have one. really liked it. The vibrating one? Or just the regular stud? QuoteI had to take it out because I was a teacher. Cool thing about teaching in a uni - they don't really care and most seem to think you HAVE to be a little off the center to do it -------------------Scars remind us that the past is real
Girlfalldown 0 #7 September 21, 2004 Why yeth I justh goth mine peirthd lasth week! Mine hurt and mine still hurts but it's getting better. I can't wait to downsize so I can speak normally again. Eating food would be nice too. I went with a friend and his is progressing a lot better than mine. I think I'm over cleaning it. Anyway, if you go, I hear that the places that use the clamps to clamp your tongue down and pierce through are actually less painful than the way I went so you might want to look for one of those. I went to "Cold Steel" in San Francisco and they are really clean and sterile but they dont use the clamp so you really "feel" it. It's all about the pain of the piercing and the rush right? Also you aren't supposed to "use" the piercing for at least a month or so. No kissing either. I'm loving mine more and more. I like the way it feels when I roll it on the roof of my mouth and under my tongue. I even like the metalic tastes I get when I gently touch it to my teeth. It's a whole new oral fixation. -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.)
sunshine 2 #8 September 21, 2004 QuoteAlso you aren't supposed to "use" the piercing for at least a month or so. No kissing either. I only waited a week and 1/2 after getting mine pierced. It didn't cause any problems. So go ahead shannon, you have my permission to play with your new toy. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! eUrNiCc 0 #11 September 21, 2004 I've had mine pierced for about 3 years. I didn't think that it hurt that badly during the piercing or after the fact. The real hassle is learning to eat again without biting the stud, which i believe is more shocking than painful. As far as those vibrating tounge rings go, I wouldn't think that something so small could be very effective. How do you turn them off and on? I assume that they're either always on, or there's some sort of screw down switch? It'd suck to have it start vibrating mid sentence. Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age. Brains 2 #12 September 21, 2004 QuoteAnyway, if you go, I hear that the places that use the clamps to clamp your tongue down and pierce through are actually less painful Huh, i heard the opposite was true with other types of piercings. Very interesting. However after getting one done i didn't see how that was possible to hurt MORE Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. sunshine 2 #13 September 21, 2004 QuoteThe real hassle is learning to eat again without biting the stud, which i believe is more shocking than painful. Thats why i only use acrylic balls on my piercing. I'd much rather accidentally break a chunk out of an acrylic ball, than break a chunk out of my tooth with a steel ball. In the years i've had mine pierced, i've managed to break 3 balls, and swallow 4 of 'em. Thank goodness replacement acrylic balls are cheap. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
Skycow 0 #14 September 21, 2004 I've had mine pierced twice. I kept ice in my mouth for several hours after it was done. The next day I was eating and there was no pain. It was a little hard to talk because of the length of the rod and swelling. I'd definitely recommend getting a plastic ball when you down size -- will help prevent against chipped teeth! Enjoy here while you're here because there's no here there.
eUrNiCc 0 #15 September 21, 2004 Does anyone here have a PTFE barbell. I'm not sure if they're still avalable, but aparently they're made of some very flexable type of plastic that can bend and stretch?Egad, A BASE life defiles a bad age.

Misslmperfect 0 #20 September 21, 2004 i had no idea this was still so popular! i had 2 in my tongue at once, back in the day...eating like that was an experience! and i got a big chunk taken out of my tooth. i didnt think the pain was bad - its literally next to painless. the clamp hurts more then anything else (that can be said for any piercing, though). the days after are more uncomfortable than painful i think. go for it if you want it! beware though, you'll play with it. in public. some employers dont like that. wow..im still in shock that its such a big thing still! i got mine done when i was 14! i was a strange child, though.Oh Canada, merci pour la livraison!
