lynxie 0 #1 September 16, 2004 Have you read a good story written by Hemingway? Which one. And what was so good about it. -- "If you can dream it, you can DO IT!" --

RoadRash 0 #3 September 16, 2004 Do you want a story or a name of one of his books?!? I liked Farewell to Arms...but I think the man is severely depressing...and I only read that and for Whom the Bell Tolls...Buy several boxes of Kleenex and get ready to drink yourself into oblivion...Just like Hemingway...... ~R+R...~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~... lynxie 0 #6 September 16, 2004 QuoteDo you want a story or a name of one of his books?!? I meant a name of a good book. Or name of just a novel or a short story written by him. -- "If you can dream it, you can DO IT!" --
raggdoll 0 #7 September 16, 2004 For Whom the Bell Tolls The Sun Also Rises The Dangerous Summer (began as a Life magazine article, became a full length book) The Garden of Eden (not to be mistaken with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, by Mark Twain--excellent novella, by the way) A Moveable Feast (Hemingway's adventures in Paris) and The Old Man and the Sea--my favorite, especially if you like symbolism. gmanpilot 0 #8 September 16, 2004 Here is a Hemingway story, and I think it's true: On the wall above my toilet is a framed cartoon of 7 dogs of varying breeds standing up like men and pissing against a wall. It really is a funny cartoon, but there is a typed sentence at the bottom that was added later, it reads: Taken from the Men's Room at Jamaica Inn's English Pub on Key Biscayne, Miami, Florida. This cartoon was given to me by a good buddy who received it from his father and his grandfather. The grandfather was with his old friend and fellow Keys resident Ernest Hemingway when they got drunk in that pub and stole the picture. Thier exploits that night were of such legendary proportions that Hemingway added the caption to the cartoon with his own typewriter and gave it to his friend some years later. I don't know if the story is really true and there is no signature, but it makes for good bathroom art._________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.
