RastaRicanAir 0 #1 August 30, 2004 On behalf of the small but select group of lucky souls who crammed into the Montero last Saturday and headed out to jump the point on Destin beach: "Big Ups" to Spence and Roaming DZ www.roamingdz.com for setting up such a kick-ass weekend. Not only did I personally rack up too many beer vouchers to even list here, but I got to experience another one of those times where you realize no matter how great skydiving has been to you so far, there's still a whole sky-full of even cooler times you haven't had yet. I think among the highlights (other than the incredible view of course) had to be: getting cheers and airhorns from 200 bar patrons and boaters after every landing, having whuffos gush about how much we entertained them all day (next time we have GOT to put out a tip jar!), and of course hanging out afterward with the illlustrious members of the Eglin Yacht Club (a.k.a. the Cast of Cocoon 3). I've always wondered what wealthy WWII veterans and their 55-year-old old trophy wives drank while lounging on their 60' yachts. Now I know: $6-a-bottle Andre Spumante. In carefully counted plastic flutes. All thanks due to Chris for being a great ringmaster to our little circus (better put some aloe on that burn buddy), to Wendell for busting ass to get us in the air an hour after he said he had absolutely had to leave, and to Lurch the waiter and that helmet-haired "singer/guitarist" at McGuire's for providing us with endless amusement (at their expense) during dinner. As i was the only one that ate sand you have me...And that was due to my lose teva's.. Spence is planning on a huge boogie in November down there. Weather will be much cooler cheaper hotels and better entertainment. Maybe we will find a hotel that excepts cash,,,lol All joking apart, Spence did another great job. Next time we should have a bigger plane with all the promoting we did. I know whitley turned down at least 10 tandems due to not enough time. thanks again Spence for introducing new jumpers to the Roaming DZ.....Also nice to see randy. Havent seen ya in a year. junkyarddog 0 #3 August 31, 2004 I would just like to award the eat shit award to Shrek for his beautiful display of busting ass on the first beach jump because of his "sandals" (nice excuse). Robbie get the closest to the boat award missing by a couple of feet (Good job under that canopy by the way). Shrek also recieves the scaring the most people award with his low hook turn (It's not the jumpers that were scared it was the people below his fat ass). Spence...awesome swoops my friend, great boogie too. Chris...it was great jumping with you and I don't ever want to pack that rig again. In fact, they broke on the first one and I didn't even notice until the end of the end of the day. The sand must have been a different consistency ten feet away where you were landing. P.S. Thanks for scaring the silicone out of my co-worker and her three small children. He only seems to tell me the good stuff. Sometimes he just can't admit to me when he busted ass. And I totally believe the whole "blame it onthe sandles bit" While you guys were hitting the beach scene, I was experiencing the dessert scene. It was my first time jumping in the famous Eloy AZ skydive. I tried my first sit fly with Our friend Tony filming. I have to say I wasn't that bad for a first timer. Eloy was a very big DZ and it was amazing watching all the Arizona Airspeen people kicking ass. Maybe I will start a special team..........hum maybe called the "super clown airspeed" or "amateur flying airspeed" or maybe even "flying felony airspeed team" ya never know. Ok, so I am definately not going to miss another one of those. Beach jumps in Destin whilst entertaining the rich, trying not to scare the children w/ their shovels and pails, and eating sand. I only busted ass 1 time first jump and you know those tevas you bought me are way to big. you've been a witness to me busting ass on them.lol.. I have to say the low timers kicked ass..I think Robbie forgot to mention that he almost was swimming with the sharks. He went to far past the beach showing off to the AJ's crowd. How many people do you know who've done that?! But if you guys want to get hung up on quantity instead of quality, I will have no problem switching from $12-12 packs of the good stuff to $8-20 packs of Busch Light.
