nbblood 0 #26 September 6, 2004 1:13:5 Great weekend at Couch Freaks even though the winds didn't fully cooperate with my plans. 13 jumps, firsts include, first jump at Couch Freaks, first Skyvan, first Hot Air Balloon, first jump on new Sabre2 150, first jump on new Spectre 150. Fortunately, the beer was cheap at Couch Freaks, so I just bought everybody a couple rounds at the beer truck. Great weekend, great boogie! Man, I cannot wait to get my new freefly friendly rig . . . AAAARGH! Kelly

fireflytx 0 #29 September 6, 2004 What a weekend! First jump wsa a memorial for my Gram I did a high pull and released rose petals and said some prayers, a few freestyle jumps, a few dumb girl jumps and then an SCR which never worked out and then MY FIRST CUTAWAY! That was some freak shit. Pulled, and I kept falling I looked over my shoulder to see my bag and then something resemmbling a ball of shit came out, didn't think twice except for this second parachute better work. Someone landed with my gear and my BF, BRAINS, saw my cutaway handle and recovered that, MY HERO! So I only lost the reserve handle......."Well behaved women rarely make history"

Vallerina 2 #34 September 6, 2004 2:2:2 (first crw and first jump on the PD 160 Reserve) I did jump #666!!!! Crwmike took me up and showed me the real darkside of crw for it!!! I had a blast! So that's what a canopy feels like in full flight... On my second crw jump, I had my second reserve ride (the first one was due to unintentional crw...this one was due to intentional crw!!!) We did a death spiral, and it snapped the line at the attachment point, so Mike advised me to keep my ankles in tact and cutaway. I kept me handles, Mike got the freebag, and Tom followed the main close enough so we were able to find it!!! Thanks, everyone!!! I had a great time in Richmond. I wish I coud've been on the Skydive Indiana way, but I will see everyone at Paxton! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

skyyhi 0 #36 September 7, 2004 :14:0 What a great weekend - but also a lot of shit happened. . . Did 6 jumps on Saturday. Watched my friend have a hard PLF and land on his shoulder (broken collarbone). Did 6 10-way speed jumps on Sunday and watched (from the air) one of our teammates low turn into the swoop pond. . .broken ribs, internal bleeding and blood clot near heart. . .serious but will live and be able to skydive again. . .thank god! I have had several PM's regarding who it was who got injured at Elsinore. . .sorry I didn't post his name because I was just reflecting on the weekend. His name was Chris Halsan and he usually jumps at San Diego. He has about 300 or so jumps (not really sure on that) and I didn't want to speculate on the incident so I didn't post it in the incidents forum. Chris told others that he had come out of his spiral a little low, then turned quickly to try to avoid the pond but ended up pitching there instead. . .just a mistake. from my perspective (in the air) it looked like a low turn and then plunge into the pond. He is okay and other than being really sore he will be fine. Couple of fun jumps today. . .couldn't really wrap myself around the skydives today - just a little tired and overwhelmed by the weekend so I quit early and went home. . . A great weekend. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
