Large Jumper Instruction

Recommended Posts

I've been able to search the forums to learn a great amount of info about gear for larger jumpers, which is helpful since I'm 6'6" and 270. However I haven't been able to find any info about training us plus sized people that want to jump.

Most of the DZ's in my area limit student weights to 230 and under. The average response I've received when inquiring is "Call us when you lose weight." I've made a few tandem jumps and one AFF jump and would like get things rolling, but it's hard to do that standing on the ground.

Anyone have info that might help me out? I'd really appreciate it.

Thx.

You are not likely to get anyone to commit over the phone as there are many face to face issuse to address before putting up someone of your size. With that said, we do have a "big boy" rig that will support you and have put guys of your size through AFF before. I dont know what area you are in, but check us out Here, or contact me if you any questions.

The AFF jump was 3 years ago. I had to stop for surgery to fix a college football injury. I've dropped weight since then, the only problem is that the DZ I was training at lost their license to land jumpers at the airport. Wasn't the DZ's fault, the City pulled the plug all drops landing at the airport. So the search has begun again...
