There are so many things going on in the world right now. People killing children, Mass raping of woman and young girls. I am beginning to feel these are very Evil times.
It makes all the problems we have even as a nation seem small. It seems our whole race is having much bigger problems.
Where did it begin I have no idea. The things we as humans are doing to each other is disturbing.
I sometimes feel these are the signs that meant the end is near.
I am not paranoid but sad, and disturbed.
Am I the only one who feels these are Evil times?

These times are no more evil then any other time in history, we just know about it due to the advancements in technology and the perverse media reporting *every* sick story out there.

Nothing new is happening, there were all these things (just some now have a new twist due to technology) in the past.

even though some of the story may not be completely true and a little twisted, the fact that evil people existed then and still exist now & forever ~ will just be a part of history.

So, not to be morbid, but this just occurred to me.

What did suicide bombers do before bombs? Did they run into an enemy camp with a sword and just start slashing until they were taken out? Or is the suicide thing new?

And I'm not just talking Middle East style suicide - how long has the kamikaze been around?

Any world war-waging history buffs out there?



To address the topic, Dave's right. The world does seem more evil right now, but atrocities like genocide and rape as a war tactic have been going on since the dawn of man.

I've vote for us being far more civilised now than ever before.

Slavery's gone, the Inquisitions stopped, fewer and fewer countries have death penalties, those that do are humane about it, hell we now take prisoners in war... the list goes on and on.

Depending on how you define "evil" - we have far less disease, infant mortality is low, longevity is high, there is healthcare for the masses and suffering in general is less widespread.

I think you opinion is most likely based on either ignorance of or a failure to account for all the true horror and absolute barbarism our race has been capable of in the past.

Much of what you list as "evil" today would be pathetically small fry by comparison to what people were experiencing thousands or even hundreds of years ago.

Yes people are "evil" today... but they've got nothing on some of history's greats.

Suicide bombers?

Trojan Horse? Similar idea, sneak in and kill everyone, scare everyone else.

There were suicide assasins since the dawn of time, so that's similar.

Like I said, technology has slightly changed things, but overall there's nothing new.

Evil will exist as long as humans walk the earth, good will also exist, but we'll have to dig for it.
