Hubby says I can't jump this weekend

Hi EV,
Picture if you will a cartoon showing a couple of golfers looking up at a plane load of jumpers and the jumpers looking down at the golfers. The thought bubble is in the middle with arrows pointing at both groups, "Look at those nuts just ruining a perfectly good day!!!!" Somewhere in my archves in an old Parachutist mag resides this cartoon. Some things just don't change. Have fun!

That is so funny! E-mail it to me if you find it.

I guess the "Should a Skydiver Get Involved with a Whuffo" thread came a little too late for you, huh? :P

I don't intend to get involved in this one, sorry. I think your husband is being petty, fwiw. That's not what marriage should be like, in my view. (I'm not married, though, so take that for what it's worth. I would try to be the opposite of petty with the woman I loved, though.)

Good luck.

You should come to Florida and jump at Sebastian. Our climbout takes us right over a golf course. You could wave to your husband (or spit on him) while he does his thing and you do yours. :P

LOL. Great idea. I will keep that in mind!

I can't really restrict his golf because we belong to a country club where you pay monthly dues and have unlimited golf, so the more golf he plays the more he gets his monies worth.

There you have it. Go out buy a huge block of jump tickets. That way you save more money. How can he argue with you jumping then, if you are saving eachother money.:P

Your agreement sounds way to complicated to me. Are you both lawyers or something?? :)
When Chad jumped and I didn't, he made sure that he jumped when I wasn't free, and I went horseback riding when he wasn't available. That way there was no bitterness at all, no rules and regulations, we were both happy. To us, family/each other will always come first, skydiving is just a nice little bonus that we now share. Last 2 weekends we didn't jump because we were putting siding on our house, we just roll with the scheduling punches and do our best to keep life balanced. But we happen to be people who skydive, not define ourselves as skydivers. Doesn't mean that's the right way to do things, it's just our way.

Geez,,the answer is simple,,lose the country club BS,,thats a lot of money to waste,,and for what ? Out here in the Chicago area most country clubs charge 20-40,000 a year just to belong and on top of that ya gotta spend x amount on food and drink on a monthly basis,,thats nutz,,that would keep you and him in golf and jumps for awhile,,,it can be worked out if two people want to......wally

the fact that going for 3 whole weeks without jumping could be detrimental to all the progress you've made recently. You've spent a shit load of money lately

Evelyn doesn't pay for jumps or tunnel time. Skydiving is a cheap sport. They have all these free camps and these cool free wind tunnel sessions all the time. :D
