Remster 30 #76 August 30, 2004 QuoteBut my fastest to date is 260 mph and AggieDave if memory serves me correct has been clocked even faster than that. Plus Piisfish has posted some more official speed record numbers. Its not the max speed, its the speed from 9k to 5.5K. Its easy to go real real fast for a short amount of time, its something else to do it over 4K.Remster

Amen to that... Congrats Amazon! Again you've shown the world that chicks rock! ha ha. Her speed is official, acknowledged by the competition judges, please stop trying to tell the world that you have gone faster. Amazon did it for over 4K on one run, she's DA FASTEST US skychick right now. Iwan

Plus Piisfish has posted some more official speed record numbers. the big question is where the pro-track was placed ... when placed inside of the helmet and also not averaged with another pro-track, the readings will be way off. Amazon showed me the jump with 310 mph max speed on hers. as she found out recently :) getting that speed on the pro-track placed on the harness and also having that result within 30 km/h window with another pro-track on other side of the harness is quite different. but it was fun having her at my DZ for the competition, she's quite a character :) i hope to see more people next year :) stan -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... FrogNog 1 #82 August 30, 2004 Quote Just watchout for those speeds when it comes to opening. She's already blown up one canopy. You wouldn't want to get into the habit of doing this (blowing up canopies) as that could get a little expensive not to mention dangerous. I keep telling her she needs some sort of pre-deployment drogue. -=-=-=-=- Pull.

Amazon 7 #85 August 31, 2004 I would like to thank everyone for their way too kind words. WOW what a weekend. I would like to thank all of the people at Jumptown who just freakin ROCK.. what an awsum place to skydive and some reallllly wonderful people. Yall did yourselves proud and I was very very happy to initiate 4 more PMS sisters as well. Like Stan said.. its a LOT harder than I thought. having two Pro tracks outside the helmet for official results makes for some difficult dives.. Even if you go unstable for just a little bit it causes one of them to get a different reading than the other and can cause an OUT OF BOUNDS. My first jump one of them did not even work so I had to do a rejump.. Jump # 2... trying too hard and got a bit wobbly causing an OB. Jump #3 relaxed and took some advise and although it did not feel as fast It was a better result. I wanted to make sure I got 3 good averageable jujmps so I basically did a nice stable headdown with my legs wide to give me stability. Jump # 4 More of the same...nice and stable.. good speed and then tracked out of it.. got big and slowed down to a good stable and tossed at 2500 ft.. Felt really strange on deploying and looked up to see a gob of brake lines and a triangular slider and my Samurai starting to dive and go into a spin.. .. It was not square.. it was not controllable.. it was not clearable.... and I sure as hell was not gonna land it... so at about 4 G's it went Hasta La Bye Bye. I pulled the silver just a little behind the RSL that already had the reserve out of the container and on its way to opening under my brand new YELLOW r-Max... wow.. for yellow it was mighty PURTY. I watched my freebag and canopy drifting off to the northwest but... no outs over where they were headed into a wooded area so I opted for the nice soft landing area at the DZ.. Lost the freebag and PC but Kevin ( thank you thank you thank you) saw where it landed ( in the river) and off we went in search of it. A fisherguy was out in his boat and saw the main come down in the river...and having done a couple jumps at the DZ he had already picked it up when I waved to him from the bank to offer him some money to take me for a boat ride...I saw that he already had it in the bow of his boat( I was ELATED).... I pointed at the RED canopy... and at my red BIRDMAN PANTZ and red GO FAST T-Shirt and he got the hintI put a couple jumps on account for him at the DZ next time he shows up to jump. So.. Main was all tangly from the chop... but no idea what caused the left steering lines to go wonky with the slider.. oh well. My reserve was due to be repacked for the first time in a couple weeks anyway. Back to the DZ and I was told they were going to continue jumping and try to get in all 6 of the jumps before dark... LUCKILY I took my old trusty INfinity I bought last year with my GREAT BIG Triathalon in it... just in case. I dug it out.. tightened up the closing loop, turned on the Cypres and Voila.. ready to go. Jump 5 I guess I was a little AMPED and got another OB. On jump 6 I relaxed a bit more and bettered my previous top speed. Like Stan says I have gotten a reading of 310 MPH... but it was in my helmet.. the overall speed on my protrack is higher than any of my official speed in the competition... but the graph in the Jump Track shows 310 MPH at 4400 ft. It also showed a deployment altitude of 2016 ft at 62 MPH... DUH.. I was still tracking.. even though I got big and stable for 3 to 4 seconds out of the track.. I learned a LOT on that dive in March in Mesquite NEV. I learned you can break a Triathalon by deploying it at to high a speed. I learned its not smart to SPEED Dive with an open face helmet that you cant hear your first audible alarm going off... I learned you need TWO audibles in a full face so you can hear them... and not windburn the hell out of your face. At this World Cup meet I got LOTS of ideas for what I need to do to get really serious about Speed Skydiving... Equipment and training wise... ( No Remy... LUV that look but I am going with something a tad more competitive) I got to meet some realllly cool people from all over the world.. and had a ton of fun... I cant wait to see them again. There is a World Record out there waitingNow who was it that wanted to race

Amazon 7 #91 September 1, 2004 Oh lookie its one of my favorite lurkers..... no excuse sorry darlin...... I just figured I would call the ones most likely to spread the wordHey it was fun.. a little bit rough on the old body.. I think I may actually have to get myself into better shape...I got whipped around a couple times purty hard for a little ole lady.... when i chopped the main ont he 4th jump..with it spinning up.. and also getting a bit unstable on a couple jumps... I put a whole lot of stress on the old bod. I think I will take a run down to Kapow this weekend...if the weather is looking like its jumpable.. I think I am due for a nice slow canopy ride from 13k to geek Mt Rainier. AS far as spinning you around.. hey it was spur of the moment on your Pink Mafia Initiation... I mean we did already pass the Barbie.. so .. I had to do something with the rest of that time in freefall I had an interesting Pink Mafia jump there at Jumptown too.. 4 mew members.. everyone got the Super Barbie.. but it was.... a different kind of dive for sure.. It was a pretty wild ride... A good time was had by all, of course. (And that includes Barbie.)
