Bad people suck.

Recommended Posts

Someone stole my cell phone. I think it was taken from the dropzone. I often leave it on the counter by the suit-up area... So I called it to check my messages and a guy answers. He hung up on me several times and i talked to him and then i talked to his girlfriend etc, etc, who did say they were in moreno valley, not far away... I called Sprint and found out they already downloaded some ringers and other shit. Why do people suck? I hate to say this, but I think it was a tandem customer or one of their family members. Anyway, I reported it stolen, and tried to get the guy to meet me somewhere but he wasn't about to do that. He wanted me to mail him money and he'd send it back to me - yeah right - do I sound that stupid. He wasn't stupid either cause I had a deputy that was going to meet me with him... So i had to suspend the service and i have to buy another phone. This time I think i'll spend the $4/month for insurance.

That, and I dropped my pc330 and have to ship it off to get fixed, I'm not having a good day.

That really sucks. On the bright side, at least it wasn't the 330.
Did it have GPS in it? [Have no idea how it works.]

Lew,

Argh. I share your pain. I was a victim of ID theft myself. If your bad-guy is savvy, he may be able to find out more about you. I'd advise you to flag your credit cards, et al, so he can't hurt you even more.

This may help....
Call all of these numbers to report the theft: Equifax 1-888-766-0008, Experian (formerly TRW) 1-888-397-3742, Trans Union 1-800-888-4213; the Social Security Administration also has a fraud line at 1-800-269-0271 if you think you've been a victim of identity theft.

You can also take some satisfaction from the fact that the cosmic karma always comes around. He'll get his.

Yes, bad people suck, and so do mean people.

Can't you get the manifest from the school and see who was there at around the time your phone grew legs and walked away? That might start the search with a name. And isn't "I'll give you your stuff back if you give me $$" extortion, which is also a crime?

So sorry, lew. And like Carmen said, karma...

Thanks Alana, I love you too! I still owe you a really horny gorilla jump. Maybe I can sneak over for chicks rock...

Travis, yeah, got a new rig... It's beautiful. The "lewmonst" was supposed to go on the yoke though and it was on the mudflap. I also had to have the main lift web shortened and the leg padding changed, but other than that it was awesome. needless to say, i think it's still at sunpath. If you see it, or Lyle, let them know they can just send it back to the school at Perris when it's fixed.

JP - ... nevermind. I won't encourage you.

well, kids, i had the deputy there with me the last time i talked to the theif... told him his options: i cancel service and the phone is useless to him, i call the police, or we just meet up and i'll pay for it back... he said, "well I guess you're going to have to cancel your service then" and hung up. So I did. whatever. I bought a new phone (and the $4/month insurance this time) and the old one is flagged stolen so no one will ever be able to activate it. I hope he likes his new paperweight and the karma he's got coming.

i'm over it.
peace

I just had a totally oppisite experience last weekend...in Las Vegas of all places. My friend was dancing at a club at one of the big casinos and she dropped her cell phone. Someone picked it up and kept it till we called looking for it around 4 in the morning. They were nice enough to not only return it, but drive out of their way to our hotel and drop it off since we didn't have a car and it would mean an expensive cab ride out to their hotel and back. There are some very good people in this world too!!

If you can, you might want to check on-line or wait for your bill and find out some of the numbers he's been calling. Then call them and see if you can either find a sympathetic one that will rat him out, or just take satisfaction in knowing you've told all his friends what a creep he is.
