dropdeded 0 #1 August 27, 2004 Worked standby (ambulance) at thier show in Bakersfield last night. I've heard of them but never actually heard them before. Not really my kinda music but hey, kinda liked it Now when they opened with the old country tune "Ring Of Fire", I was a bit surprised. Very interesting gig, lotsa bumps and bruises from the mosh pit All in all, a fun night. Social D fans? lawrocket 3 #5 August 27, 2004 I haven't seen them live since Danny Danell died a couple of years ago. Still, they are one of the greatest and most influential punk bands ever. Mike Ness is a true genius My wife is hotter than your wife.
dropdeded 0 #6 August 27, 2004 Some drunk fuck asked me to get on the PA between songs and tell his friend that they found his shoe Couldnt believe all the single, lonely shoes laying around after the show. dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
RastaRicanAir 0 #7 August 27, 2004 True, they are the Monsters of O.G. Punk-a-Billy, and their Ring Of Fire cover is a classic. Unfortunately, I just recently got back to the emotional point where I can listen to their music again. Warped Tour stop in Panama City back in my more sycophantic "fan boy" days, me and some friends wrangled an invitation into the backstage weenie roast area. Putting mustard on my weenie, look up, standing next to me loading up on the onions is Mike Ness. (Should you ever need to distinguish him from half the guys in his audience, look for the sparrows tattooed on either side of his neck.) So it took me a good 20 minutes to work up the nerve to say: "Hey, how ya' doing, I really dig your stuff." And we was a total dick! Reluctantly shook my hand but wouldn't even make eye contact. Of course I was wearing a t-shirt with a big corporate radio logo on it, so maybe it was just a punk thing. In any event, I was heartbroken but I learned to never idolize anybody again (Unless they're dead. Johnny Cash is the f***ing MAN!). Anyway, thanks for letting me prattle on like a disillusioned schoolgirl. It was therapeutic. Hmmm, "Ever met an idol who turned out to be a complete tool?" Could be a good topic for a new thread. -I shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. http://www.johnnycash.com/billboard.htm

Shotgun 1 #9 August 27, 2004 I haven't listened to them much, but I did see one of their shows a long time ago... opening for the Ramones in Austin at City Coliseum (RIP). Both bands put on an excellent show! Oh, and I loved their version of "Ring of Fire", being a Johnny Cash fan and all.

Shotgun 1 #11 August 27, 2004 Actually, I do buy the stuff that I download. $.99 per song or $9.99 per album through Napster; I think that's a fair deal. Gosh, I sound square...
ozthebum 0 #12 August 27, 2004 Did anyone see the documentary about their (first?) tour? Some of the stuff in the doc made "This is Spinal Tap" look normal
