ChasingBlueSky 0 #128 August 19, 2004 QuoteQuoteYea, I heard of a few vendors that were very pissed about the auction. I'm all about great deals, but if it starts having an impact to the industry just so 15 or 20 people can have a deal...well... I wasn't at the auction, i was busy with other stuff. What was that all about? Some companies auctioned off stuff that was sitting on their shelves they didn't want anymore. I saw a Micron that was a year old get sold for $150_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... GroundZero 0 #130 August 20, 2004 QuoteDefinitely try and get a Control on the Registration Fee I agree getting too Damn High...Ridiculous... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Registration went up $10 from the prior year and the additional $10 goes to Rantoul to pay for the showers NEGATIVE Registration went up $69.00 for every vendor who already paid $895.00 or more... if it happens again, most of us are in agreement, we go elsewhere. There are many other venues with 1000+ jumpers. I resisted responded in a public forum, but be sure to pass it on to Don and Bernice and the city. If this was 2000 jumpers I would suck it up, but it is not anymore. Chris Precision Aerodynamics $10 increase times 1000 jumpers = 10,000 bucks for those showers... I think not! Where am I going next year? (Not to mention the 69.00 increase for every vendor and aircrew member...should have included cleaning that gawd-awful nasty shower!) I was specifically referring to individuals, not jumpers. I should have been more clear.----- ~~~Michael

flyangel2 2 #133 August 20, 2004 Oh goodie. Then I'll post it again. No DJ/Band near tent city! mwabd1 0 #136 August 20, 2004 Ok I'm not trying to piss anyone off nor am I in favor of having a band in tent city............but if you ask any of the girls in the office they will tell you that if you are the go to bed early type and not proned to staying up and partying then you should camp in the alternate camping area out past Rick & Ricks. Evan without the band there were some of the tents that had some pretty late and loud party's. and come on don't kill the auction.............I was setting aside money for next year! Bodyflight.Net 0 #141 August 21, 2004 I wasn't going to contribute but since you said that... The new showers were awful, I know the effort was in the right place, but I certainly won't be using them. Bring back the portables!!! Porta-poddies as mentioned were far and few between ( and if you DO camp out past Rick & Rick I hope you don't expect to use one, oh and bring a weed eater too, and plan to have holes in your tent floor) As a Vendor/Staff we weren't even approached about contributing to the Welcome packets, not sure why I didn't think of it myself though.. but that could help make the goodie bag more fun Soda was certainly difficult to find, too difficult A water hose or spigot should be available to those of us in Tent City Tent city motor curfew SHOULD be enforced by removing the keys from the possession of the violator till morning. and yes and Events Board or something at Manifest would be extremely useful to keep track of the days events.. I love going but it does seem that each year things are getting less convenient. We need more attendees... Where was everybody this year?????

Seeing as how there are 3 jump runs and aircraft running 2 minutes apart do you really believe go arounds are safe? I'd rather walk five miles than crawl five feet. SkydivnQT 0 #145 August 21, 2004 LOL....I happen to be one of the group that was helping look for the glass eye and yes, it was the same group with the guy who asked what color it was. We give him crap still about that comment. Seriously, though.....one of group that came to help look for it is deaf. He thought you guys said you were looking for a watch. So, he told the other "what color is it" guy that we were looking for a watch.....so that's where the color comment came into play. But, when we found out it was actually a glass eye, he felt about 2 feet tall making that comment. If both chutes fail......track for your rigger! RevJim 0 #146 August 21, 2004 Quote2. More garbage cans and more frequent service on them. Trash was overflowing on a daily basis Grrrrr. Party till 1 or 2 a.m. Get up by 7. Haul trash till 1 or 2 p.m. Eat, rest, and/or get a single jump in. Haul trash again, around 5. Eat (maybe) Party till 1 or 2 a.m. Repeat. I tried man. Really, I did. More cans next year, sure, but I'm NOT working all day. Late pickup is gonna get pushed back to dusk too, so I can get more than one hand's worth of jumps in.It's your life, live it!
