Conundrum 1 #1 August 24, 2004 All other things being equal. I'd say the guy who has everything to lose. People will do anything to protect the people or things they love.
happythoughts 0 #2 August 24, 2004 That's my view on Christmas gifts. What can you get a guy with everything? Crack pipe. If he has everything, you know he doesn't have one of those.
Fast 0 #3 August 24, 2004 I voted a guy with nothing to lose because at some point he may be more willing to take some risks with things that a guy with everything to lose wouldn't, in order that he can be more like the guy with everything to lose.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. drakeshelby 0 #4 August 24, 2004 Just wondering what brought the question to mind? A guy who has everything to lose will be less risk motivated than a guy who has nothing to lose. drakeshelbydrakeshelby
cocheese 0 #5 August 24, 2004 It's not whether you have shit to win or lose, It's how you play the game.
MarkM 0 #6 August 24, 2004 Quote A guy who has everything to lose will be less risk motivated than a guy who has nothing to lose. But what if "everything to lose" meant you'd lose it if you didn't act?
bhammond 0 #7 August 24, 2004 both situations describe a person who has reached their desperation point. At that point it doesn't matter from witch side of the scale they came from. both capable of doing horrible things equally ....
Zenister 0 #8 August 24, 2004 all other things are never equal. dangerous is a quality not a quanity. everyone always has 'everything' and 'nothing' to 'lose' everyday.____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Chivo 0 #9 August 24, 2004 Interesting question, I too would like to hear what motivated this post. I think that someone that has nothing to lose will take more risks in life. Someone who has everything to lose will not take those risks, however, they'll do *anything* to keep what they have. So, who is more dangerous? I think both are equally dangerous. But then again, it depends on what do you mean by 'dangerous' - Reckless? More leaninent to commit crime? I guess it all depends. ~Chivo
Conundrum 1 #10 August 24, 2004 QuoteInteresting question, I too would like to hear what motivated this post. Actually, we were discussing this on another board and thought I'd see what you guys had to say about it.
 Chivo 0 #11 August 24, 2004 A-HA!!!! I'd say the guy who has everything to lose. People will do anything to protect the people or things they love. Ok, one person with both attributes. A person with no material wealth or emotional ties to the world, but feeling that they are protecting a greater good. Example? A soldier acting in the name of their country or religion. Japanese Kamikaze pilots or suicide bombers.
 quade 4 #13 August 24, 2004 Situationally dependant. For instance, look at Paul Hamm the other night. Going into the competition the commentators were saying he was and one of the favorites. At that point, he had everything to lose. After he fell in the vault, the commentators had written him off for -any- medal and were saying that he'd live the rest of his life replying that moment over and over in his mind. He had nothing to lose from that point forward but went on to give two outstanding performances.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
 cocheese 0 #14 August 24, 2004 "Everytime you go up in the air you're unsafe....I don't like you because you're dangerous.""That's right Iceman, I am dangerous."I think this quote is hilarious over the PA at the dz especially when there are a lot of whuffos around.
