LASIK in Virginia/DC/MD area ?

Recommended Posts

Yo !

Looking for the best place to do LASIK, locally if possible but don't mind to travel if i have to. Really scared and would appreciate any info and encouragement :)
If you had one, would you recommend your doc ?
How long did you wait before jumping again ?
Also, if you have any idea, how long before you can scuba dive ?

And finally, any problems with dry eyes ? My eyes are somewhat sensitive and dry easily... wonder if this will be an issue.

Please PM or post as you wish. All appreciated in advance!

bsbd!

Yuri.

Talk to your regular eye doc first, find out if you are even a candidate at all, then ask who the best surgeons in your area are. As an eye doc, we see the very best and very worst laser results. We know who is consistently good and who does work that looked like a lawn mower hacked up your cornea, so we know who is best to send our patients to. Talking to a handful of people is no comparison to the hundreds of lasik patients that go through eye doc offices.

Hey Yuri.

Boutros is a jackass. He stiffed my office on payment for designing his office. We let it slide since his portion of the design in that building was less than the legal fees would be. No, it has nothing to do with how well he cuts eyeballs, I just throw in that bit of bashing anytime his name is mentioned.

These are my eye doctors and they don't just do lasik but are practicing ophthalmologists. I've been going to them since I was 8 years old. They did my mother's lasik and I'm having mine done with them this winter.

These are the guys who did Tiger Woods (and little old me), located in the DC Metro Area.

They have several offices. I was at home getting some TLC after surgery, and visted their NJ office, and that's where I recommend everyone goes. MD was very professional and did one hell of a job on me (I was a mediocre candidate, and they made everything go smoothly and succesfully), but in NJ, I got all that plus tey took the time to talk to me more, and were a little more pleasant and less gruff and down-to-business attitude.

Overall, I had a positive experience with both offices of the TLC people.
