skymama 37 #1 August 4, 2004 Have any of you started wearing or have seen the yellow wrist bands for Lance Armstrong's LiveStrong campaign? My daughter bought one at the Nike Factory store a few weeks ago and has worn it every day, and my son bought a t-shirt with LiveStrong written on it. In today's paper, there's a little article that says all the cool kids are wearing them now including Bush, Kerry and some Hollywood stars. FYI if you are interested in getting one for $1, it supports programs for young people with cancer. Nike donated the first $1 million and so far 7 million wristbands have been sold. Cool! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

I wear mine every day. Honestly, I'm so out of touch with current events, I had no idea that it was becoming so popular. I'm glad to hear it, though! I like it because it's for a good cause. I like it because Lance Armstrong is one of the most amazing athletes I've ever seen. I admire him. And I wear it because it reminds me that I'm not the only one who struggles and it keeps me pushing through all the hard stuff I encounter. And even if I never have to face overwhelming medical problems or the last climb of a 100 mile ride in the tour de france, I am reminded that small victories can be just as great as larger ones. That guy was just unbelievable in this year's Tour de France. He would be amazing even if he hadn't beat cancer... but to go through all he has and be TdF champion 6 times in a row... inspiring. I ride my fat-tire Walmart bike much more often now. Thanks, Andrea, for the information!
