How do you pronounce "Iraq"?

Funny you posted this....I work for an Iranian!! And the first time I pronounced his homeland as "eye-ran," he nearly sent me right back home!!!!

So there are no "eyes"....it's "ears";)

The worst thing you could possibly call someone from Iran is "eye-rain-ian".....they hate it....

Same applies for ear-rawk.

Soo.......how 'bout this:

Does it make you crazy to hear "eye-talian dressing" vs. eh-talian.

Well then its probably 'none of the above'....
We seem to pronounce it Ih-rack, with Ih as in 'Illinois', its not Eye-lin-oy is it?
Ih-ran is the same.
At least, thats the case over here.....B|
