AggieDave 6 #1 July 26, 2004 I'm stuck. I know exactly what we're doing for dinner/party/etc for Morgan's 21st B-day (Morgan, aka RedAssSkyChick, my fiance), but I'm really stuck on what to get her. God I suck at getting presents for people, I can never think of anything cool, so I end up getting the same sort of crap all the time. Stuff like DVDs, etc. Although I have a couple of ideas, if you wouldn't mind, would yall chip in some ideas? Yeah, she's on the forums, but not too often and even if she does read this thread, it'll be ok. Oh, and the "day at the spa" gift is a good one, I gave it to her for Christmas, so I need something else this time around.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." wmw999 2,485 #2 July 26, 2004 There's always cool new skydiving toys. Or pay for her MSF class if she hasn't taken one yet. Or just a really comfortable seat for the back of that bike Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
AggieDave 6 #3 July 26, 2004 QuoteOr pay for her MSF class if she hasn't taken one yet. Neither of us have taken it yet, and can't until September...they're all booked up. But I am doing that when we can actually take the damn thing. That's not a "b-day present" type thing, that's a "I'm doing this because I love her" type thing. QuoteOr just a really comfortable seat for the back of that bike With a cupholder. I'll get that, with the arm rests, the radio and the heater/AC when we're old and ride around on a Goldwing...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." wmw999 2,485 #4 July 26, 2004 Well, there's always custom underwear with little grippers -- I'm sure there's someone out there who can build something our of spandex and nylon I got a glider ride for my birthday; finally used it a couple of weeks ago, and it was a blast. This is a good season for it, too. The Houston-area glider port is on route 36 south of I-10. WendyThere is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. AggieDave 6 #5 July 26, 2004 QuoteThe Houston-area glider port is on route 36 south of I-10. That's funny, we rode by that on the way to Spaceland since we took the back-road-scenic-long-way to get there. Quote Well, there's always custom underwear with little grippers You suggest this as if you have experience... Actually, that's a fun idea and am kinda surprised its not out on the market...its a *little* late to have something custom made up, though...I have exactly 1 week.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Nightingale 0 #6 July 26, 2004 hmmm.... give her one day where she gets to pick everything you guys do, and you get to pay for it (within reason, of course! A day in tahiti would be a bit much, methinks). A day at the theatre, shopping, spa, whatever she wants, and she gets your company with no complaining allowed. Brains 2 #7 July 26, 2004 LOL, how about you doing her job for a day and pay for her to fun jump all day. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Amanduh 0 #9 July 26, 2004 Mile high club? Helicopter ride at sunset w/ champagne? Depends on budget really...Not all 'gifts' have to be materialistic...dinner is nice..but you can do that any day..pack a picnic..go to a local park and find a secluded area...Girls are amazed when guys go out of their way to celebrate their birthdays. Remember that. Money isn't always going to buy the best gift. You know her better than anyone else... Maybe go pick out a perfume you really like the smell of...that means a lot when a guy will take the time to smell the perfume and choose one that he likes...it's all about the effort Hope this was somewhat of help??? lol
AggieDave 6 #10 July 26, 2004 Its not just a typical dinner...don't worry. Since she's been bugging me to tell her and I won't and won't until we're where we're going, I'm not gonna spill the beans here. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." VanillaSkyGirl 6 #11 July 26, 2004 Make her something special and significant with your own hands. Edited: I meant like carving her something, painting her something, writing and playing her a song on the guitar or something like that.

Amanduh 0 #14 August 4, 2004 So did you figure out what to get her?
AggieDave 6 #15 August 4, 2004 Oh yeah. Got her a pro-dytter. Not too original, but it was something she wanted. Then I created a nice long day of fun for her. Started out at NorthGate (local bars) for lunch and beer, then went to Messina Hoff (local winery) for wine tasting and a tour, went back to Northgate for some shots and a couple more beers, then to the house to get dressed up. I wore slacks, button down and a tie, even! We went to dinner at Christophers, which is the best place north of Houston/south of Dallas to eat (let me put it this way, dinner cost $95). All in all, even though the present wasn't really original, she thought my planning of the day was and she really enjoyed it.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
