Ever been hypnotized?

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow I'm going to a comedy/hypnotist show. I've been to several before and laughed my ass off. This one should be even funnier because our friend booked the guy for a private show so we'll know most of the people there. I've been under hypnosis, but under different circumstances. I used hypnosis for the birth of my first child. We were doing natural childbirth and since I am a total wus when it comes to pain, I wanted a back up plan. It worked for the childbirth thing, but don't know that I would have barked like a dog or gotten up and sang a song while under hypnosis, though that would have been pretty funny during labor

Is the performer "The Sandman?" I was hypnotized by him in OKC about a year ago... It's like being drunk...everything you do seems like a good idea at the time...along with the requisite fuzzy memory...

No, this is a guy named Joshua Seth. Checked his website and it's pretty impressive. He's also a psychic.

Um, claims to have actual psychic powers, or puts on a psychic show?

I mean, if there are any real, honest-to-goodness psychics out there, there are missing people and missing weapons of mass destruction that we could all use some help finding. I've always wondered why these gifted people are so unwilling to help for the good of manking... [:/]

I've never been hypnotized, but I've gotten myself into hypnotic-like states through relaxation and stuff. White noise and vibration helps a lot. I don't really believe the stories of people doing silly things like they couldn't stop themselves. One of my fraternity brothers went to a show (I wasn't there) and later in the school newspaper he said that he had just been "going along with it." I dunno.

I got hyped by Flip Orley. Had me telling my friends that Alice from the Brady Bunch was a babe :S

she is ... right ?

LOL. My daughter was a participant at a hypnosis show and he gave her the suggestion that the guy next to her was some star that most women find sexy, but my daughter didn't, so instead of cuddling up to the guy she was trying to avoid him. Kind of backfired, but still pretty funny.

Probably because those that do assist agencies such as the police department don't go around 'advertising' about it to be picked apart by skeptics such as yourself...kind of a silly theory you have there. If you don't see it, it doesn't exist. Hmm...

Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

yeah, and if Miss Cleo was soooo psychic, why couldn't she see her bankruptcy coming?
;)

I really don't believe in psychics... I think they are basically like magicians... interesting, but just elaborate tricks. there is no conclusive proof that they can actually do anything...

wasn't there some guy on TV that offered a million dollars to any person who could prove they were psychic... and none of them signed on.

I can't be hypnotized... it requires that I let someone else make decisions... i.e. that I relinquish control to another... I'm not able to do that... I put up mental blocks that prevent it. I've tried before.
