cameramonkey 0 #1 July 23, 2004 Ok, so here's the deal. I buy a new item on ebay from a "power seller" his feedback rating is somewhere in the 1500 range. I email him for an amended invoice. wait overnight, and no reply. Upon closer inspection, I see I didnt need the amendment, so I completed the transaction using my paypal account. Another problem. the alternate (work) ship to address that I provided him in the next town over has my home zip code, not the correct one. So I send ANOTHER email... then a third one marked urgent. I get an email from fedex that the order has shipped to the alternate address. I check the fedex tracking info, and sure enough its got the wrong zip. So now its been 3 days, and I havent gotten a single reply from the idiot. Fedex wont change it unless HE calls. I have to wait till they try to deliver it unsuccessfully, then change it to a "hold at the sort facility" and lose a day (I cant change it at all unless I am the shipper). I dug thru the guy's feedback list, and found 6 neutral feedbacks in the past 6 months. ALL are for the same thing... TOTAL lack of communication. He ships the product ok, just ignores any correspondence from you. So what would you do in my shoes? I am inclined to post negative feedback because he does this habitually, Just trying to decide. On one hand, he completed the transaction per the minimum requirements in good time. Nothing wrong with that. However he totally ignores any questions that you ask. And it appears that he never responds to ANY questions... so the only positives he gets are from people who either dont care, or didnt have any questions or need to correspond with him. Am I asking/expecting too much? (edited to add the following) I am not complaining about the zip code screwup.... that was my bad. Its the fact he wont respond to ANY correspondence. This lack of response led to the zip code issue being bigger than it needed to be. I sent TWO emails correcting it before he shipped it, so it theoretically could have been corrected. Hell, if he emailed me back and told me he couldnt do anything, I'd be happy(er). at least he wasnt completely blowing off a customer. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO! Brains 2 #2 July 23, 2004 QuoteAm I asking/expecting too much? IMO, yes. It was YOUR mistake to give the incorrect shipping address. Wait for your stuff and leave neutral feedback for lack of communication. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
Fast 0 #3 July 23, 2004 Quote Am I asking/expecting too much? Was it a significant purchase? Are you unhappy with the quality of service provided for the purchase? I would wait till you have the product before you post anything and after that... if you are not happy with the way it was handled post negative feedback. Thats the whole point of the system. If the guy won't respond to emails and that is not stipulated on his selling pages then you are doing the ebay community a disservice by not posting negative feedback.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. Keith 0 #4 July 23, 2004 You're going to post negative feed back because you screwed up??? YOU gave him the wrong zip code. He may be a bad communicator but don't blame him because of your mistake. cameramonkey 0 #5 July 23, 2004 I'm not complaining about the wrong zip. thats my bad, and I will accept it. Its the fact that if he would respond, he could correct it... but thats not even the issue... its that he wont respond to ANYONE as far as I can tell. Its just rude... thats why I wont buy from Buy.com anymore. you cant call anyone with a question about your order, and when you email them, it takes a minimum of 2 days to get an answer... hell, it took 3 days to cancel a backorder the last time I dealt with them. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO! Guest #6 July 23, 2004 Yes, you goofed. If you really want to get his attention, threaten to report him to eBay for fraud. Works for me, and it's much more of an attention-getter than a neg feedback. mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." jumpergirl 0 #11 July 23, 2004 As an eBay seller, I personally would expect to receive negative feedback if I did something like that. Granted, you goofed with the zip code, but like you said, if he would've answer your email then you could have told him. I voted to give him negative feedback. He deserves it. Maybe it will make him check his email more often.
RevJim 0 #12 July 23, 2004 Speaking as a seller and a buyer, yea, you goofed, but not in the way you think you did. Whenever making an ebay purchase, send an email before paying. If no answer, send a second. Wait another 24 hours, then report to ebay for non-communication. I NEVER send money, or an item, without contact, period. It's your life, live it! Squeak 17 #13 July 23, 2004 you are making the assumtion the the seller checks their email daily, they may only answer once a week or so. Not everyone has the same work habits I've even had seller where the goods are sent from the wholesaller so one the order is placed to them the seller has no control so emailing them is a waste of timeYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! I don't send my payments until I have received something from the seller first. Who knows why this seller hasn't answered yet. Maybe he hasn't been able to get online. Maybe he's been very sick. It could be any number of possibilities. However... based on his previous feedback it sounds like he's just lazy. Once you get the item... I say give him negative feedback. RevJim 0 #16 July 23, 2004 Forgot to add: Send ebay buyer and seller communication "Read Reciept requested". You won't always get an answer back, but it really help when that box pops up saying the sender is requesting verification of the email being read. No reciept, no answer, didn't read the email, report. Reciept, no answer, read and didn't reply, report. You get the idea....It's your life, live it! jumpergirl 0 #18 July 23, 2004 That's a great idea. I have that set up on my Outlook, but I use my dropzone.com email address for my eBay stuff. Can you put a "Read Reciept Requested" on the email here?

jumpergirl 0 #21 July 23, 2004 I just looked and I don't see anything in the email here at dz.com that will let me request a read receipt. PhillyKev 0 #24 July 23, 2004 Must have to do with your ISP.
