Evelyn 0 #1 July 21, 2004 I could live on sushi. Actually tried a sushi diet once but after the first week it got too expensive. So what's your favorite? What kind of different sushi have you tried? There is a place I go where they have white tuna. It's pure white and doesn't taste like regular tuna. Really rich and very yummy. Does anybody like uni? My hubby and I like to end our sushi meal with a combo uni/salmon egg wrapped in seaweed with a quail egg on top. There is one sushi bar we go to where they have an aquarium with shrimp and when you order sweet shrimp they catch them from the aquarium and give them to the sushi chef. One day I was having lunch with my son and we ordered sweet shrimp and the sushi chef got distracted and one of the shrimps jumped out of the bowl, into my miso soup, then onto my lap then onto the floor. I screamed cuz it was a shock to have this shrimp in my soup and on my lap. The staff just kind of laughed and picked it up off the floor and handed it to the sushi chef. I usually felt kind of bad eating them after seeing them alive inthe aquarium but not this one. There is a sushi bar we go to that has all kinds of unique things, like sushi nachos - kind of a spicy tuna with a sauce and you scoop it up with fried wontons in the shape of chips. Every Friday I go for sushi with the guys from work. The place we go has really good sushi and it's half price, but we have to contend with the "sushi nazi". One of the guys named him that after the Seinfeld soup nazi. He is the most unfriendly sushi chef. Sorry this is so long, but I get really excited when I think about sushi. I wonder if there are any dropzones with sushi bars. That would be awesome!! Let me know if you find one. Kris 0 #3 July 21, 2004 I love sushi in all of its wonderful forms. There is no more perfect food on the planet. Spicy tuna is always a fave, as is salmon, shrimp, eel, and any kind of tuna. Surprisingly, for being stuck in Oklahoma, there are some really good sushi restaurants here compared to what I've tried near the coast. My favorite roll of the week right now has to be the Rainbow roll with tempura, spicy crab, cucumber, and sprouts inside. Outside is rice, salmon, tuna, lemon, and sesame seeds. tfelber 0 #4 July 21, 2004 Sushi is the best!!! I just found this place in Chino Hills, Haru Haru Sushi, it's incredible. And the price is right I had an awesome lunch today of Miso Soup, Spicy Tuna Roll, Salmon, Seared Yellow Tail, and Tuna Sashimi and Sushi for $15. But in Phoenix, where I just moved from, Kyoto of Scottsdale is the place. You get the same thing for $5. Spicy Tuna Hand Roll $4.95. Absolutely the best. Edited to add: Now I'm hungry!!!
