I work in NYC and there are actually two nearby restaurants that have restrooms just like that. As long as you lock the door, no one can see inside but the user can see out. Don't lock the door and everyone gets a show.

One of them actually plays movie clips for your bathroom enjoyment.

Ther is an ice cream parlor in West Palm that uses the same idea in its bathrooms. The doors and walls are clear, but when you lock the door they fill with smoke/steam so no one can see in. It's really cool, especially when drunk people go in at night and *forget* to lock the door.

They have bathrooms with that stuff in a couple restaurants here in Philly. They're in unisex bathroom that have stalls. When you go into the stall and turn the handle to lock it the glass frosts over.
