NeedToJump 0 #27 July 12, 2004 Sex, especially really really good sex. Skydiving is great but I'm getting a lot of it right now. I could give up skydiving, I don't think I could give up sex... Vallerina 2 #28 July 12, 2004 QuoteI have a million things to say about this... so i'm just going to say .. " Never mind" Excuse me for asking silly questions, but why bother posting if you're just going to post, "I have nothing to add."? I see nothing wrong with making skydiving a major part of one's life as long as they realize that there is more to life. I just can't imagine getting into a sport where there is a chance of getting seriously injured and assuming it will be a part of you for the rest of your life. I don't worry about dying or breaking an ankle. I worry about not being able to walk again. If skydiving did that to me, it would stink, but I have many other means of making myself happy, so I'll do just fine. It's the people who can't imagine their lives without skydiving that worry me. What if the one thing you love more than anything else is what prevents you from doing that again? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

happythoughts 0 #33 July 12, 2004 Nine years ago, I met a woman who was recently divorced and had moved back in with her mother. She was really interested in skydiving. I was going to the dz the next day and called her. The phone was answered by her mother who said, "...that she was not letting her daughter date a skydiver. I could call back when I got that nonsense out of my head." I'll...uhhh...get right back to ya.

Kennedy 0 #42 July 12, 2004 I've got to go with Val. How can you hang your entire life on something that can quite easily injure you such that you could never participate again? I'd miss jumping, sure (hell, I miss it now) but come on, if you can give up sex/fVcking/making love so easily, I've got to wonder how you've been doing it and with whom. ...and no, please don't inform me witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

zulu 0 #44 July 12, 2004 QuoteIf I could never have sex again it would break my heart but if I could never skydive again it would break my spirit... Hearts mend, eventually. I absolutely love the way you think For years I have had on my license frame "Skydiving...better than sex" The looks I would get from people passing me by on the road, or breaking their necks to see who's the truck is funny. Skydiving is not just a sport with me. For reasons I do not know how to explain, skydiving has become theraputic, and a way for me to mentally decompress. The feeling I get from flying amongs natural creations, and feeling the whisper of the clouds as they seem to say hello when your speeding thru their atmospher is exillerating to say the least. In my mind and soul, SEX doesn't even compare to such a feeling. I cannot imagine my life without skydiving. If I could begin and end my day making a jump I would have truly reached happiness. zulu

turtlespeed 226 #47 July 12, 2004 The question is situational - If you could do one - but not the other - EFS wouldn't make any sense to you. Not an optimal life for me. Take away both and - well - let's not go there.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

cocheese 0 #49 July 12, 2004 I'm sorry Vallerina for my "Not contributing anything post". I was going to argue and defend my feelings for the sport and why i do it . Then i thought it is senseless to try to explain. I had no idea this thread would get into a debate like this. It's fine and all good. Differences in opinion are wonderful. And i'm on the side that feels sorry for those who think sex is the best. Yes sex is great and i think i'm doing it right .. so i've been told. There are many reasons to skydive ... My Main one is :There are a million ways to die in life. But only one way to live...... skydive !We shouldn't worry about this topic anyway. Let's just all get on a load and pair up later.
