turtlespeed 221 #1 September 25, 2003 Ha...My Grandmother is tired of hearing me bitch about my jumpsuits being so expensive. So she went out and bought a sewing machine. She called me a little while ago and said she was going to teach me how to use it. BWaaahahahaha.... I'm half interested in learning. I'm thinking that it will help me if i ever want a riggers ticket...but sewing? I'll keep you posted.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

yardhippie 0 #6 September 25, 2003 dude... I have modified a few pairs of pants for freefly... better than the bought stuff, and cheaper. I have 2 machines, but my rigger has 3 (one will sew webbing, and your fingers together), and a serger (pimp ass shiznit). I like it. just recently attempted my 1st RW suit w/o a pattern. It turned out ok, but I got my torso measurement wrong and it doesnt fit right. HAHAHA!!!! Well, as it is blatantly obvious, I know not what I am doing....sew, here is the rundown from last night. (I'm just making pants) I decided to make a two tone kinda checkered thing.(below the knee and above the thigh are alternating red and blue) I am using a tripple zigzag pattern for the seams. If there are any suggestions, please, feel free. I am using a thick canvas, but it is somewhat soft, I don't know what ounce it is. The thread is a very strong upholstery thread. Not the clear fishing line kind, it looks like thread.(Black) So far I have sewed the upper and lower halves of the back of the pants together as well as cut out the patterns. Finally I sewed the two back pieces together at the crotch. I'm hoping to get the front done earlier so that I can begin the pinning process. I left ALOT of material to spoil, because i just don't have a pattern to do the cuffs and don't quite know how to do the waist band. I am using the pattern for madical "scrubs" it looked the most like FF pants and also looked easy to do.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
 turtlespeed 221 #16 September 25, 2003 QuoteMen that sew are sexy!!
