skymama 37 #2 July 2, 2004 It's been thundering here in Fl the past half-hour. It's the second day in a row I'm going to have to drink beer instead of getting my swim in for exercise. Darn it. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
kelel01 1 #3 July 2, 2004 It's been raining down in GA as if it were the apocalypse. I think we're going on 38 days of torrential downpours. Kelly
happythoughts 0 #4 July 2, 2004 Last Sunday, I had hail at my house. About the size of my thumbnail. I waited under one of the trees until it ended. When I got out of the car, there was little balls of ice all over my lawn. This is Florida, in the summer, and I have ice on my lawn. Since it was around 90deg still, the ice didn't last long. kelel01 1 #6 July 2, 2004 The Romanian guy in the cubicle next to mine always makes fun of me, but as long as I'm at work (read: can't skydive anyway), I LOVE storms-- the nastier the better, to a point. Kelly

marcandalysse 0 #8 July 2, 2004 Its pouring down very hard in North Sarasota....just as long as it stops before the drive home...my lawn needs it...although often it can be storming here at work, but at home, 4 miles south could be dry and sunny! Tampa Bay area is funny that way... mp
kelel01 1 #9 July 2, 2004 Aw, isn't that disappointing? I always get sad when an awesome storm blows over and the sun starts shining. I need a nice overcast-ness in between the two to help me transition back.

PhreeZone 20 #13 July 2, 2004 Pssst.. its hail Anything over about pea sized you better look at your cars for damage and anything over dime sized look for siding damage. We had a hail storm roll through here last year that caused over 50 million in damage. Most the damage was due to 5 major car dealers having just about every car damaged and most the siding in the area suffered damage.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
bch7773 0 #14 July 3, 2004 QuotePssst.. its hail ok good i wasn't the only one who caught that. hail storms are cool... as long as you aren't outside... or your car isn't outside... or your dog... or the hail is big enough to damage siding. but if none of that is true, then they are cool. oh and worthless trivia, the biggest piece of hail ever measured was found in kansas... it was much bigger than a grapefruit.
