RevJim 0 #7 June 30, 2004 Having just lowered a box into mother earth a few days ago with one of my father's beloved Golden Retrievers, I know exactly what it's like when people love animals as much as people. A number of years ago our first Golden died. She got into some ethelene glycol (automotive antifreeze). That stuff tastes sweet to dogs, but is pure poison. My father eventually had to have her put to sleep. That was the first time I EVER saw him cry, and 1 of only 4 times total that I know of. 2 Goldens since then (1 of age, one of cancer(most recent)), and my grandfathers graveside funeral service. God help those that did something like this, because we as humans certainly will not. It's your life, live it! Clownburner 0 #10 June 30, 2004 That just makes me sick. Some people are only alive because it's against the law to kill them. And if I'd caught them doing that, I don't think that would have stopped me.7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth

Darius11 12 #16 June 30, 2004 I find it a lot easier not to like humans, as they are responsible for their actions. mailin 0 #19 June 30, 2004 QuoteYes, Mailin, and I can't understand why people would intentionally try to harm people either. Food for thought. Yes... and the learning process should be life long. People who are exposed to something usually learn something from it and change their ways. JenArianna Frances

skycat 0 #21 June 30, 2004 QuoteI find it a lot easier not to like humans, as they are responsible for their actions. There is selfish, mean, and inhuman people, but I have never meat an animal like that. You know even the dogs that are out there that have harmed and killed people ended up that way due to how they were treated (or not treated) by humans. Pet ownership is a huge responsibility, from the day fifi comes in the door it's your job to fix what is wrong with thier behavior and make sure that they do not learn any new bad behaviors. Then you need to mold all behaviors so the pet can be a member of society. I have a book at home called "Good Dog, Bad Owner" and it's not about how to train a dog, but rather how to train an owner. I also cry when on the news their is a story of a child who was beaten to death by thier parents, for the same reason I cry when I see on the news about a puppy that was covered in gas and lit on fire. Thier death was senseless, it only happened because an adult human could not control thier rages.Fly it like you stole it!
mardigrasbob 0 #22 June 30, 2004 QuoteThis disgusts me. Often the people that have no respect for animals are the same people that have no respect for people either, Mailin. Here here! Most mass murderers start with animals. My dog was stolen and used as training bait by a gang of 'dog fighters'. It has been five years and I still carry a murderous, vigilante rage within me. While I don't agree with those calling for the slow torture of these little bastards, I do understand their anger. These liitle fuckers do need to be punished and closely observed for along time. ----------
aprilcat 0 #23 June 30, 2004 Thats really sad. Did you get your doggie back? Does s/he trust people anymore? I have a cat that had been abused. I've had her for 8 years and she is still nervous around brooms. Otherwise she is comfortable and content and pretty much the predator in her old age (she's between 16-18 years old). I also had a pitbull/terrier who was rescued from a 'training camp'. She was the sweetest dog in the world, she actually ran from smaller dogs but played with bigger dogs. You couldn't pay her to bite a human. She was loving and very trusting. I hope if you got your doggie back that she knows you didn't give her up to that position. Kids who do this really have anger issues that need to be addressed before they lock their first human in the basement.~~April Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo! I found out alot about dog fighting as a result. These people are BAD and not to be taken lightly. Well entrenched in many southern and western states, dogfighting is a big money bloodsport. These people will not think twice about doing what is necessary to protect their thing. I've got a new rottie pup(Sammy see..pic), just turned five. I watch him like a hawk. I can only vaguely imagine the rage that a parent of a murdered child would feel; I would lose it! Thanks for your reply! ----
