Psychonaut 0 #1 March 16, 2010 Going from an old square 155 zp.exe to a Sabre2 150? I'm ~ 150-155 otd If needed to serve as a point of reference, I've also put numerous jumps on a Pilot 150.Stay high pull low
dragon2 2 #2 March 16, 2010 Probably: softer openings, more dependant on body position during openings, more glide, more responsive in turns, more dive using frontrisers, more flare, so in general, more fun ciel bleu, Saskia
airtwardo 7 #3 March 16, 2010 Probably not in free-fall...but when it opens~ Katie bar the door! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

I jumped one a few times but it's been a while and just can't really remember :( Damn winters..Stay high pull low
sagan 0 #5 March 17, 2010 The most noticeable thing will probably be that assuming you haven't just relined your old canopy, a new sabre2 properly trimmed will glide better.-Patrick
sagan 0 #6 March 17, 2010 forgot to add -- how canopies are measured is different from mfg to mfg and aerodyne and pd for one measure differently meaning the pilot 150 will probably feel bigger vs a sabre2 150... not sure on the measuring of the zp.exe. If the canopy feels a twitch faster that's probably it though.-Patrick
Psychonaut 0 #7 March 17, 2010 Yeah I almost forgot about that. Another characteristic is the pack volume; the zp.exe is the thick-ass south african Stay high pull low
airtwardo 7 #8 March 17, 2010 http://www.dzsports.co.uk/zpexe-231-p.asp I've made a few on one, it's an intermediate canopy comparable to Strong's Zpo line. Nice ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
Joellercoaster 6 #9 March 17, 2010 The only size I've jumped both in was 170, and the ZP.EXE: - Opened more on-heading and consistently in general - Had a much steeper glide in full flight - Didn't flare as nicely or turn as crisply - Was a dream to pack by comparison, though as mentioned up-thread, the fabric is bulkier-- "I'll tell you how all skydivers are judged, . They are judged by the laws of physics." - kkeenan "You jump out, pull the string and either live or die. What's there to be good at?
Psychonaut 0 #10 March 17, 2010 Yeah.. The .exe just seems way to mellow for me. It's a combination of both simply the size as well as it's characteristics. I put a good 20 jumps on a Pilot 150 in a few days and it was way more responsive, and overall more fun. Like I said I haven't jumped the Sabre2 150 in a while so my memory is faint but I know that as well was a little snappier. Just looking for a non-drastic change Stay high pull low
