Recommended Posts

Off the Jeb Corlis b.a.s.e video, A year in the life, there is an instrumental version of "Nothing Else Matters" I have searched and searched and EVEN went to their website and listened to the previews and I can't find the same version...

Can anyone help? It's halfway into the video Clicky

my guess would be apocalyptica 4 Norwegian cellists who seem hell bent on proving "heavier than thou" to nearly everyone in the metal world.. they did several Metallica tunes, early and late..and 'note for note' doesn’t quiet qualify they way they recreate every tiny guitar squeal and vocal melody with their cello's

in concert these guys stand upright on their instruments at times... they've also done Sepultura and Pantera covers, but it's their own compositions that really amaze...

Former ‘metal god’ walking out of their concert with me..

"did you hear that sound?"
"what sound? the band yea damn dude..."
"no, the sound in that silent moment right as they stopped."
"eh??"
"it bass cases clicking shut all over the world.....they know now they will never be that heavy....."

Apocolyptica rocks! i have both their albums. But if the instrumental version your heard was not cellos, metallica did release a version called "the elevator" version which was all instrumental. It was the B-side on a single CD.

Oh hell yeah, Apocolyptica, those guys are fucking bad ass, been listening to them since back when Metallica was still good (yeah, they've been out that long). Their other band covers are really good as well, go get them if you don't have them yet.

If you had to recommend one of their albums, which would it be?

VERY, very, difficult.. If you liked the metallica cover, check out "plays metallica by four cellos".

The latest album is called "Reflections". It is more metal, more drums, I think this is the best so far. You should also consider "Cult" (2001), that one has less drums, more classical.

If you want to listen to one of the albums, I'll say "Reflections". But trust me, they are all very different!
